Canolli is only 6 months old, and sadly, she has already known far too much upheaval in her short life. She was abandoned at the shelter by someone who claimed to have found her as a stray, though we know that isn’t the full story. What we do know is that Canolli is a Border Collie mix who has likely already been passed through at least four homes - a real shame for such a young, intelligent dog.Like all Border Collies, Canolli needs a job to be happy and well-behaved. Whether that’s solving doggie puzzles, learning tricks, doing agility, carrying your slippers, or “herding” the kids (just kidding!) - she thrives when her mind and body are engaged. She is sweet, but not immediately cuddly when you first meet her. Give her time and trust, and she will become your best friend, your shadow, and your loyal protector.Canolli is very interested in cats and would likely chase them, so a cat-free home is a must. She is also not suited for a home with small children, as she is very active, jumpy, and simply doesn’t want to accidentally knock over or hurt a little one. While she has been crated for much of her life, crating should only be used for short periods - this girl needs interaction, stimulation, and companionship.Most of all, Canolli needs what she has never truly had: a forever home. Not another stop-over. Not another temporary solution. She deserves someone who understands her breed, her energy, and her heart - and who is ready to commit to her for the long haul.
