Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13602Hi! My name is Stella and I’m guessed to be a 1 year old schnauzer mix dog. My weight at the moment is 30 pounds. I just got here so check back for more info but below is what my foster has learned about me so far!- I'm a young and very enthusiastic dog who loves running around and playing with toys (Nylabones are my favorite!). - My foster mom says I have a puppy mentality so will need some basic training. However, training should be a breeze since I'm very treat-motivated. My foster mom thinks I might even be good at agility work. - I'm already potty trained, and I haven't had any accidents in the house so far. Plus, I'm pretty quick when it comes to going potty, so you won't have to wait around for long.- I'm not a fan of my crate, but I'm learning that it's my safe space. I'd much rather be with my human family, though.- I'm super friendly and love to play with other dogs. Sometimes I get a little too excited when meeting new dogs, and I bark at them to get them to play with me.- I'm a strong girl, so I'm still working on leash training. But don't worry, we'll get there!- I'm also very affectionate and love giving kisses, hugs, and belly rubs.- I like my foster mom's young kids a lot, sometimes too much. I tend to jump on them when I want to play, but I'm learning to sit and be calm if I want attention.- I tend to get vocal when I see strangers walking by my home. It's just my way of letting everyone know that I'm always on the lookout and ready to keep my home safe and sound.Overall, I am very a sweet girl in search of my forever family. Could that be you? If so apply today because I won’t be around for long! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read more about heartworm disease here

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well my mommy and me and my 3 siblings were really scared until this really nice lady took us in and took care of us until she could get us to 2nd Chance.  Now we are at the ranch and we are having tons of fun running around with the other puppies here and our mom is getting a break!  After all she is only a year old so she doesn't really want to be a mom already :)The Director has NO idea what 'breed' we are and she said it doesn't matter we are PURE CUTENESS and shame on people if they need a label!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!April 15, 2024, 12:36 pm
