You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sugar was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and safely arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 5th December 2025. She’s now warm, safe, and patiently waiting for the family who will love her forever.  We post our adoptable dogs across the East Coast and Canada so we can reach as many amazing adopters as possible and match each dog with their perfect home Please note: We do not transport dogs. Approved adopters will schedule an appointment for a meet-and-greet at People 'n' Pets, Freeze Dried Goodies & Gear in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where you’ll get to meet Sugar in person — and hopefully take home your new best friend. We do not know the exact breed of our dogs. It is the adopter’s responsibility to review photos and information provided, determine what breed(s) they believe the dog may be, and ensure they have the lifestyle, space, and means to care for the dog properly. Mike Mike is a 2 month old male. He is a Schnauzer/Poodle mix. We expect him to be a medium/large sized dog. He can live with kids, cats and other dogs. He will need help with all the things as he is still just a baby!** Mike Mike is in our care in Altoona PA. He is available for adoption. Each animal gets microchipped, spayed/neutered, 4DX tested (if over 6 months of age), flea treated, and vaccinated. The adoption fee covers those costs. Adoption fees are listed on the application. An application must be filled out in order to visit with any dog or cat. They can be found on our website www.centralpahumane.org. Scroll down and under number 2 you will see dog adoption application. Do not click on “browse our pets.” Applications are also available at the shelter. Our animals are posted on Facebook and Petfinder - only when time permits. A Petfinder inquiry is not an application, and they may not be responded to. We can only accept so many applications for each animal. We do adopt out of state, but we cannot hold the animal. **PA Kennel License #1333.

Bingos an 8-year-old family dog, his mom was our dog, and his brothers are with my uncles. He needs a new home with someone who’s gonna love him like crazy and take super good care of him; like he’s their own kid. He’s used to being spoiled with love, so we need to make sure he doesn’t miss that. He’s a pretty chill and loving dog, doesn’t bark much unless someone’s at the door. Big fan of food and long walks, and he usually sleeps with me and loves being outside, so he’s not into crates at all. Located in West Chester, PA

McGraw (aka “The Audacity in a Fur Coat” 🙄) McGraw is a 6-month-old Schnauzer mix who radiates confidence, charm, and pure audacity. He’s cute — offensively cute — which is fortunate, because he’s also a bit of a menace. Honestly, he’s lucky he’s handsome. It’s the only reason we haven’t sent him packing for his unapologetic antics. 😏 He’s brilliant, but not in a helpful way. You can expect a constant stream of feedback—he’s nothing if not expressive. He’ll let you know exactly how he feels about everything— sometimes through barking, sometimes through grumbling, and occasionally through what we’ll call “constructive growling.” 🙃 Don’t worry, it’s mostly just his way of expressing that you’ve mildly inconvenienced him. He’s the type of dog who’ll steal your heart ❤️ and your spot on the couch, then growl when you try to take it back. He does well with kids, cats, and other dogs — assuming everyone understands who’s in charge here (hint: it’s McGraw 😤). He’s crate trained, picking up house training, neutered, vaccinated, and running entirely on confidence and misplaced self-importance. He’ll make you laugh, cry, and question your life choices 🤔, often in the same hour. McGraw will require an adopter with either a lot of experience or the patience of a saint 😇 — preferably both. You’ll need a sense of humor, low blood pressure, and a good understanding of irony. If you enjoy sarcastic commentary, mildly toxic relationships, and being bossed around by someone under two feet tall, McGraw is your guy. Apply now, or don’t— his self esteem will remain unaffected. 💅🏻 RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England area and delivered in Pennsylvania and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog.
