Story
Macchiato is 10 years old and is a cross between a Siamese and a Tabby. He would do best in a quiet home without kids and other pets and with an experienced cat owner. Macchiato is an amazing cat who at one point was trained to use a human toilet, go for walks on a leash, and know how to do multiple tricks. Quite a few years ago, Macchiato had a bad experience at the vet and this triggered some behavioral issues. When scared, Macchiato would snarl and hiss and scratch us (but no biting) and we would have to lock him up in a separate room until he calmed down. These aggressive episodes used to be more common but they have not occurred in at least 3 years. Over the last 3 years, Macchiato has been living in a more isolated area of our home given that we now have 2 young children. He would need to be reintegrated into a new home but deserves more love and attention than we can give him right now. Thank you for your interest.

Story
Meet Milo!Milo is basically a living teddy bear - a big, plush, happy boy with the softest fur and the sweetest personality to match. He's a champion sunbather and can often be found stretched out in the coziest spot he can find. That said, don't let his laid-back vibe fool you - Milo still gets the occasional burst of zoomies! The hallway carpet is his personal racetrack, and when he gets going it's full "zoom zoom" mode.Milo has a history of urinary cystitis, so it is very important that he remains on a prescribed urinary diet for life to keep his bladder healthy and functioning well. As long as he stays on his special food, he is currently doing well health-wise and feeling great. He truly loves people and thrives on companionship. Milo enjoys sitting on laps, snuggling up for cuddles, and sleeping right beside his pawrents at night. He's a devoted, affectionate boy who wants to be part of your daily life.If you're looking for a fluffy, cuddly companion with a big heart (and a big purr), Milo Man is ready to meet you. Story
Meet Karen (yes, that Karen - but the lovable kind)Karen is a 7-year-old gal who has been with us for nearly a full year, and she is very ready to stop paying rent in foster care and start ruling her own forever home! She came to us living outdoors, understandably fractious and undersocialized. After some time (and some detective work), we realized she was dealing with chronic ear infections that just wouldn't quit. Eventually, Karen was diagnosed with feline ceruminous cystomatosis - which in non-vet terms means her ear canals have recurring cystic growths leading to constant inflammation and infection. Not exactly a fun time.We tried medication trials for any months. Her right ear responded well, but the left ear stubbornly refused to cooperate (classic Karen). Ultimately, she underwent TECA-BO surgery on her left ear - this is a procedure where the diseased ear canal is fully removed to permanently eliminate pain and infection. The good news? She's healing well, and the problem ear is officially behind her. She does not have hearing in her left ear, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. Karen will require daily ear drops in her right ear but she's so used to it, they're a breeze to administer. Now, about her personality😼:Karen is sassy, confident, and does not enjoy cuddling - which, honestly, after everything she's been through, that's fair. That said, she is also funny, playful, and full of personality. She enjoys killing any toys that resemble birds, has her own sense of twisted humor, and if she realllly likes you, she may even choose to sit next to you while you watch bad reality TV (this is a VERY high honour). She is friendly with the people she trusts, enjoys companionship on her own terms, and has zero tolerance for nonsense. She will absolutely stand up for herself if needed. She could live with cat-savvy dogs and would likely be okay with laid-back cats, but she's not looking to manage anyone else's drama. She is not suitable for kids (she doesn't like them, frankly waaayyyy to much chaos). Karen will do best as an indoor-only cat where she be safe from the dangers of the outside world. If you're looking for:-A cat with boundaries-A tenacious survivor -A low-maintenance roommate who doesn't need to be on you all the time to love you...Karen might just be your gal!She has waited a long time for someone to see past the 'tude and appreciate the legend underneath. Story
Meet Zesty!Zesty came to us as a stray tomcat, and he's been charming us ever since with his bright orange coat and expressive personality. We aren't sure of his exact age, but he's likely around two years old - young, curious, and ready for his next chapter.Zesty can be a little skittish at first, especially with new surroundings, but once he feels safe his sweet side really shines through. He's not a tough guy despite being a big orange male - in fact, he's quite gentle and loves chatting with staff when we walk into his room. He has a big heart and will happily "talk" to you about his day.Because Zesty previously lived outdoors, he would do best in a rural indoor-outdoor home where he can safely explore and also come inside for comfort and companionship. He seems okay with friendly, respectful cats and has been alright around social dogs.If you're looking for a handsome orange boy with a soft soul and a little independent streak, Zesty might just be your perfect match. One visit and he's sure to win you over 🧡Please follow these steps if interested in adoption!1. View the animal's profile at adopt.spca.bc.ca 2.
