Story
Meet Karen (yes, that Karen - but the lovable kind)Karen is a 7-year-old gal who has been with us for nearly a full year, and she is very ready to stop paying rent in foster care and start ruling her own forever home! She came to us living outdoors, understandably fractious and undersocialized. After some time (and some detective work), we realized she was dealing with chronic ear infections that just wouldn't quit. Eventually, Karen was diagnosed with feline ceruminous cystomatosis - which in non-vet terms means her ear canals have recurring cystic growths leading to constant inflammation and infection. Not exactly a fun time.We tried medication trials for any months. Her right ear responded well, but the left ear stubbornly refused to cooperate (classic Karen). Ultimately, she underwent TECA-BO surgery on her left ear - this is a procedure where the diseased ear canal is fully removed to permanently eliminate pain and infection. The good news? She's healing well, and the problem ear is officially behind her. She does not have hearing in her left ear, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. Karen will require daily ear drops in her right ear but she's so used to it, they're a breeze to administer. Now, about her personality😼:Karen is sassy, confident, and does not enjoy cuddling - which, honestly, after everything she's been through, that's fair. That said, she is also funny, playful, and full of personality. She enjoys killing any toys that resemble birds, has her own sense of twisted humor, and if she realllly likes you, she may even choose to sit next to you while you watch bad reality TV (this is a VERY high honour). She is friendly with the people she trusts, enjoys companionship on her own terms, and has zero tolerance for nonsense. She will absolutely stand up for herself if needed. She could live with cat-savvy dogs and would likely be okay with laid-back cats, but she's not looking to manage anyone else's drama. She is not suitable for kids (she doesn't like them, frankly waaayyyy to much chaos). Karen will do best as an indoor-only cat where she be safe from the dangers of the outside world. If you're looking for:-A cat with boundaries-A tenacious survivor -A low-maintenance roommate who doesn't need to be on you all the time to love you...Karen might just be your gal!She has waited a long time for someone to see past the 'tude and appreciate the legend underneath. Story
Meet Taika! This pretty feline was surrendered due to being a little too rambunctious for her previous pawrents. Taika is a very friendly cat, but can become overstimulated from time to time, so is best suiting to a home without young children. She has some catitude but we love that about her!One thing we have learned right off the bat, is that Taika is not a fan of other cats... So she is best suited to a home without any other felines and potentially all other pets.Taika is interested in seeing what is happening around the house and enjoys moving around. She will play with her toys like a tiger but will chill out and nap in cozy spots. If you feel you could offer Taika a safe, patient home with a good playtime routine... Story
Meet Griswald!"Gris" for short, came from a large group of cats and was very undersocialized with people when he first arrived. Thanks to the patience and dedication of his foster home, he's been making wonderful progress and gaining confidence every day.Gris absolutely loves other cats and truly depends on them for comfort. He feels safest when he has a feline friend nearby and will continue to come out of his shell in a home with another confident, friendly cat. A home without another cat would not be the right fit for him - he needs that companionship to thrive. Here's a recent update from his foster pawrent:"Gris is a sweet, playful, and very chatty boy. He loves having little 'conversations' and makes the most adorable chirping sounds when he's happy - especially around his cat friends! He's becoming increasingly social with people and is incredibly gentle when being petted. Once he trusts you, he'll rub affectionately against your hand or settle in beside you for quiet company. He's very food motivated (treats are the way to his heart!) and has a big playful side. He could chase a wand toy for hours and will leap acrobatically through the air when he's in hunting mode. He also enjoys perching up high to watch the world go by and would likely appreciate a safe catio or supervised outdoor time in the future."Gris would do best in a calm, quiet home with a consistent routine. He is not suited to a busy or loud household or one with young children. With patience, stability, and a feline companion, Gris will continue to blossom into a deeply loving and loyal companion.Gris is neutered and ready to find his forever family - ideally one with a cat buddy waiting to welcome him home. Primary Color: Grey Weight: 3.5 Age: 0yrs 9mths 2wks
