Story
I'm a very playful, friendly, loving boy! Bringing home a new cat is exciting and also a responsibility. Follow these guidelines to help your cat stay safe and adjust smoothly. Safety at Home Remove toxic plants, especially lilies and sago palm. Other unsafe plants include azaleas, daffodils, pothos, philodendrons, and tulips. Lock up chemicals, antifreeze, pesticides, and all human and pet medications. Remove small items like string, hair ties, rubber bands, and yarn, and secure blind cords and electrical cords. Check dryers before use and block access to dangerous areas around appliances. Keep cats indoors and make sure doors, windows, and screens are secure. Helping Your Cat Adjust Start your cat in a quiet safe room with food, water, a litter box, toys, and hiding spots. Limit handling at first and let your cat come to you. Keep the litter box in a quiet area, away from food and water, and scoop daily. Stick to a routine and provide scratching posts and places to climb. The Rule of 3 3 Days: Your cat may hide or act nervous. This is normal. 3 Weeks: Your cat starts to feel safer and learn your routine. 3 Months: Your cat feels at home and shows their true personality.
