Story
UPDATE 11/7/25 Dumpling has grown into a Velcro Kitty, a master biscuit-maker and nap buddy! She adores zooming with her foster siblings and would love to be adopted either with her foster sibling or into a home where there is another fur-friend to keep her company. Her right eye seems fully functional but remains a bit squinty and watery. ------------------------- Dumpling was pulled from a rural rescue with severely infected eyes, almost certainly from the common feline rhino tracheitis respiratory virus. After a barrage of antibiotics, she has healed remarkably well, and the eye specialist confirmed she has vision in both eyes. Her left eye is normal, and her right eye has a cloudy spot that she can see around. She is a typical kitten with a bit of a bratty side in that she does not want to be bothered when she is in full play mode! She adores playing with anything and everything, including her foster sister, Wonton, and is a champion snuggler. (The last photo is one from intake day. They came to LCAR together, but were not found together and are not littermates.) She is confident, and loves her 85-lb canine roomie. Est. DOB: 5/25/2025 Early applications for Dumpling are being accepted now. If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has heath issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $140 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, FIV/FELV test and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend, so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary, so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email Lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
I'm in need of finding a new home for my female cat. Her name is Mila Mae and she is a really sweet cat; however, she doesn't get along with my dogs! She would be better in an environment without any other animals! I've recently had 2 start seperating them in different rooms which has not been easy! If anyone is interested please let me know! This is a very difficult decision for me as I love her very much, but feel like it's for the best! I just want 2 make sure she goes 2 a warm loving home!

Story
Mika was rescued from under a trailer. She’s shy and skidding at first but will warm up and caress against you! She sleeps all day and is a low energy cat. She enjoys sunbathing and quiet dark areas. My biggest hope is to find a safe and loving home for Mika. A patient owner who will treat her like family!

Story
Hello World, meet Mork! This friendly and adorable little Tabby fellow with the white paws was found as a stray along with his sister, Mindy (also adoptable) by a kind volunteer on the south end of Hilton Head Island. She opened her heart and home to the two wayward siblings and did an awesome job, so now they are ready to find their furever families! Mork is very social, outgoing and always down for a cuddle. He loves playing, eating and all things kitten-centric. He really will make anyone a phenomenal new feline family member. Someone is going to be lucky to adopt this special boy. Is that you? Mork is great with other cats, so can be adopted into a home with a cat friend looking for a new pal, with his sister Mindy (the love each other but are not bonded) or as your one and only. He is resilient, adaptable and easy going for such a young guy. He is about 4-5 months old, great with his litter box habits and isn’t picky about food. He loves treats and is looking forward to a loving, indoor home where he will be a spoiled and beloved family member. If you are interested in adopting Mork, kindly fill out our required application, which can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/253063262987161 For the safety of our animals, a home check is a requirement of adoption, but we make this as unobtrusive and convenient as possible. Thank you for considering a rescue kitten!

Story
Hello World, meet Mindy! This adorable little girl was found abandoned with her brother (Mork - also adoptable) on the south end of Hilton Head Island. A kind volunteer stepped up and had her spayed, vetted and is fostering her until she can find her furever home. Mindy is a gorgeous tabby female with white paws and a little chest blaze. She is so cute, is doing great with her socialization and would make any lucky home a great new feline family member. She is a bit more cat-like than her brother, seeking out love and affection when she knows she is safe with her person, and then it is game on for cuddles and purrs. She loves to play, can get down to a great zoomie and just so badly wants to find a family of her own. Is that you? Mindy is being fostered in a home with other adult cats, so would do great on her own, with an existing cat friend or adopted with her brother Mork. They do like each other, very much, but are not bonded. Dogs are an unknown. Mindy is about 4-5 months old, has great litter box habits, is not picky about her food and she loves all kinds of toys, towers and fun things to engage her in play. If you would like to adopt Mindy, please fill out our required application, which can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/253063262987161 For the safety of our animals, a home visit is required for adoption, but we make this as unobtrusive and convenient as possible. Thank you for considering a rescue kitten!

Story
Trinity is an older kitten who's working on her confidence. She may be timid at first and needs an adopter who can give her time, gentle encouragement, and a calm environment to help her build that confidence up. The shelter is stressful for her, and she feels threatened with so many other cats around her. With patience, consistency, and plenty of reassurance, Trinity has the potential to blossom and show her true personality. She loves pom-pom toys and absolutely loves treats, so we already know the way to her heart! She’s looking for a loving home that understands shy kittens and is willing to celebrate small milestones along the way. Helping Trinity feel safe will be incredibly rewarding for the right adopter!

Story
Mafia runs the barn like a true boss. This confident working cat has a tough exterior and takes his barn duties seriously, keeping a watchful eye on his territory. He’s comfortable around people, especially when food is involved, and isn’t shy about showing up to collect what he’s owed. Mafia is best suited for a barn, shed, or outbuilding where he can have steady meals, safe shelter, and a job to do. Give him respect, consistency, and a full bowl, and he’ll make sure the place is well protected - no funny business.

Story
This orange and white barn cat is looking for a new working home after losing his caretaker due to their health complications. Accustomed to outdoor life and a routine of consistent care, he would do best in a barn, stable, or farm setting where he can provide natural rodent control in exchange for food, water, and shelter. Independent and experienced, he’s ready to settle into a new space and make it his own, offering reliability and quiet companionship to the right property!
