Story
I absolutely hate to do this, but unfortunately my cat Peaches has become far too much to manage. I’m looking for a good home for her. I will ask a small rehoming fee, but only to ensure she gets a forever home. Peaches does okay with other cats, but plays hard and hisses sometimes (at you OR with another cat). She will growl like a dog, when someone sounds like they are at the door. She also does this weird thing with her food bowl? She is only One years old and born in April. Again I hate to do this, but she plays too rough with my elder cat, and she is NOT spayed due to financial reasons. For more information, please comment and I’ll message you privately. I listed some photos below!

Story
Saffron and friend, Walter (also with us), literally came knocking on the window of one of our volunteers, asking to come in from the weather. Even though they have been strays that have been TNR'd (thus the tipped ear), they both clearly want a human family and inside home of their own. Saffron is a gorgeous marbled girl, about 2 years old, and so, so friendly! She bumps your hand for pets and loves to make biscuits in your lap. She is 7.8 pounds and seems to like dogs and cats. She also loves treats! It would be amazing if Saffron and Walter could be adopted together, but it is not necessary. It seems that they have been together for their many adventures and may miss each other. If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has heath issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $ . covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, FIV/FELV test and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend, so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary, so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email Lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Hello World, meet Vincent! He is one of the Artists litter and was named after Vincent Van Gogh. He is a very flashy and handsome light tabby with beautiful white markings and mittens. He has rare and beautiful brown eyes. He will mature into a stunning adult cat. Vincent and his siblings came to Salty Paws as tiny babies after their Mom was hit by a car and they were found wandering and lost. We are not sure if it was a self-fulfilling prophecy or what, but much like his namesake, our Vincent is a bit socially awkward with humans. That said, he is amazing with all the other cats in the adoption cattery! Although shy and bit quirky, Vincent is actually a very easy cat to care for and will definitely blossom given the chance in a loving, patient, kind home. He is playful, always in the middle of the kitten/cat fun and loves all the cat trees, toys and cat furniture. He is a lot of fun, just needs to take the approach at his own speed. Since Vincent is so outstanding with other cats and for his continued social development, we would love to see him adopt with one of his siblings (Frida, Rosa or Theo - also adoptable), be paired up with one of his new cattery pals, or go to a home with an existing cat/kitten looking for a friend. He is estimated at 4-5 months old, fully vetted and ready for his life of cat-venture. With you? If you are interested in adopting Vincent, kindly fill out the following, easy online application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SPLC/Cat For the safety of our animals, home visits are also a requirement of adoption, including a foster-to-adopt situation, but we make it as unobtrusive and convenient as we can. Thank you for considering a rescue kitten!

Story
Hello World, meet sweet Leah! This stunningly gorgeous Torbie and white girl came to Salty Paws as a stray where she was pregnant and left to fend for herself. She was able to decompress and learn the ropes of being a house cat in foster care but then we learned her special skill ... she is a LOVE with all the scared kittens who come through the program. Something about her demeanor calms them instantly. Leah has made a full turn around with humans too! She has all the makings for a lap cat and is just the sweetest, most beautiful girl. She is still young and likes to play also! Although Leah can adopt as your one-and-only, she is a gem with all the other cats and kittens she has met. So she might make a great pal if you have an existing cat in the home. She is estimated at 2-3 years old, has been spayed, vetted, is FIV/FeLk negative and ready for her true and final furever home. Is that with you? We just know someone will love Leah as much as we do. She is so deserving of all the luxury of indoor-cat living. If you are interested in adopting Leah, kindly fill out our required, easy, online application, which can be found here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SPLC/Cat For the safety of the animals, home visits are a requirement of adoption, but we make it as unobtrusive and convenient as we can. Thank you for considering a rescue cat!

Story
Play Yard Jon is currently in the adoption cattery with our charity partner, Petsmart of Hilton Head (430 William Hilton Parkway). Come visit him during their retail hours! This ruggedly handsome guy with the gorgeous swirly tabby coat is a renovated street cat who quite frankly, wasn’t much of a fighter to begin with. He is clearly a lover, not a fighter. So he needed a bit of patching up when his Foster Mom (a professor in Savannah) found him looking for a kind soul to help him out. Within minutes, he had her wrapped around his paw. Although he has perfected the “grumpy face,” he is an EXTREMELY nice cat who is soaking up all the comforts and love of indoor living. Salty Paws is working with his Foster Mom to find him his epic furever home. We all have to work together to end this epidemic of abandoned animals. What we know is that Jon has excellent house manners, uses his litter box faithfully and is now healthy, neutered and has all his vaccines. He is estimated at 1-2 years old and is ready to begin his next chapter. Jon is super snuggly, smart and perceptive; and if you want an adoring lap cat, he is your man. Bring snacks and a blankie, because he is READY! He still has eight lives left! While we don’t know how Jon is with other cats, we suspect he would do great with a cat who is kind to him and/or maybe a cat-friendly dog. It is all a matter of a proper assimilation and we have volunteers to help you with that. If you are interested in adopting Play Yard Jon, please fill out our easy, online application, which can be found here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SPLC/Cat For the safety of our animals, home checks are also a requirement of adoption, but we make that as convenient and unobtrusive as we can.

Story
Larry is a shy, independent cat who is happiest living life on his own terms. He isn’t a fan of human interaction, but he does get along well with other cats and feels most comfortable in their company. With his fluffy tail and markings that make him look a bit like a squirrel, Larry is quite the character to spot around the barn, when you're able to catch a glimpse of him. He’s best suited for a working-cat role in a safe barn, garage, or outbuilding where he can have shelter, regular meals, and feline companions. Larry is looking for a patient caregiver who values a cat for his skills and presence rather than cuddles.

Story
This shy kitty is best suited for a barn or working-cat placement. She is not comfortable with human interaction and prefers to keep her distance, but she does enjoy the company of other cats and feels most secure around them. Independent by nature, she would thrive in a safe barn, shed, or outbuilding where she can provide natural rodent control while living alongside other feline friends. She is looking for a caregiver who can offer food, shelter, and understanding, without expecting affection in return. With the right environment, she will be a valuable and content member of a working-cat community!

Story
Meet Morgan, a clever cat who loves to keep an eye on everything from a safe, high perch. He enjoys observing his surroundings and staying just out of reach, preferring to watch humans rather than be touched. Independent and confident, Morgan thrives in a barn, shed, or outbuilding with safe places to climb, explore, and relax, with cat friends to snuggle with. He's looking for a patient caregiver who can provide regular meals, shelter, and respect his love of space - because Morgan likes to call the shots from above!
