Story
This shy kitty is best suited for a barn or working-cat placement. She is not comfortable with human interaction and prefers to keep her distance, but she does enjoy the company of other cats and feels most secure around them. Independent by nature, she would thrive in a safe barn, shed, or outbuilding where she can provide natural rodent control while living alongside other feline friends. She is looking for a caregiver who can offer food, shelter, and understanding, without expecting affection in return. With the right environment, she will be a valuable and content member of a working-cat community!

Story
Meet Grim! Grim is a young, incredibly sweet and social boy with the perfect amount of personality to complement his beautiful looks! He's vocal enough to let you know what he's thinking, but isn't overly chatty. He loves being around his people, and even comes when he's called! Grim has a gentle, easygoing nature, and has been wonderful with a young child in his foster home. He's affectionate, friendly, and seems genuinely happy to be part of the action. He also absolutely ~nailed~ his first nail clipping - cooperative and well-behaved! Grim is healing up from an indolent ulcer (commonly known as a "rodent ulcer" in cats), and has been progressing nicely! This is a sore/lesion on his lip that's caused by an immune response to an allergen. The exact allergen is unknown - sometimes they're caused by allergies to flea/insect bites, eating out of dirty dishes for prolonged periods, or could point to an underlying food allergy. Since Grim's lip has been healing steadily since he's been in the shelter's care, signs currently point to it not being a food allergy, but his adopters should be prepared to . Based on his healing so far, we don't have reason to suspect that this will become a recurring issue for him! However, due to his increased sensitivity, we recommend that he stay an indoor only cat. Grim is currently being fostered in Charleston, and he would love to meet you! With his sweet personality, gentle nature, and people loving attitude, Grim is the kind of cat who will quickly become part of the family. Grim is neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and up to date on his vaccinations. Read more about indolent ulcers here: https://cfa.org/cat-talk/rodent-ulcer/
