Story
Christmas is a loving cat who wants lots of attention and love. He isnt scared of anyone and will follow you just as a dog does. Unfortunatly my daughter was allergy tested and found to be highly allergic to cats. I cant bring myself to leaving this big guy outside all of the time. He needs lots of attention and love! Please take my sweet boy as your own.

Story
Mini was born around September 2025. He was saved by a person who found him as a tiny kitten with a chin injury. After surgery to repair his chin, Mini is now ready to be adopted. Mini is all kitten but also a lap cat when it time to settle down. He is a bit active therefore not recommended for young children. He loves to play with other cats. He has a beautiful shiny black coat. Mini has been dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Mini has been neutered. For more information, please visit our website at www.bhsva.org to fill out an adoption application. Applications will not be accepted if submitted through other software. Mini's adoption fee of $125 is to help with the routine medical care he has already had.

Story
Ginny is one of a litter of four kittens who were born to a stray mama on a farm in Bedford. Once they were old enough to be weaned, the owners of the farm turned them over to BHS for care and adoption. They have turned out to be the most adorable, fun and loving kittens! Ginny is a bit of a tomboy. She loves to rough house with her siblings, but is the prettiest little thing! She’s a grey tabby with the sweetest little face. Like all her siblings, Ginny loves to be held and cuddled and give tiny nose kisses. Ginny is a healthy, happy kitten who is full of energy and purrs! She is FIV/FELV negative, has been dewormed, has had her first FVRCP vaccination and will be microchipped prior to adoption. Because Ginny is not old enough to be spayed, she is not available for adoption outside counties bordering Bedford county. BHS strives to adopt kittens in pairs, especially when they are siblings, and since there are two boys and two girls in this litter, the numbers are perfect! If you would like to take home any of these sweet, adorable kittens, please visit our website bhsva.org to complete an adoption application.

Story
Annie, not more than a kitten herself at 16 months, was found homeless and caring for three tiny kittens in July of 2025. A volunteer foster for BHS took them in, socialized the kittens and found wonderful homes for all three. Unfortunately, Annie was terrified of people so, at the time, she was not deemed adoptable. Her foster mom feared that she would never learn to trust and therefore her future was uncertain. Would she need to be adopted as a “barn cat” or released where she was found to fend for herself the rest of her life? Then …. after many months, with time and patience, Annie has finally learned to trust her foster mom and dad. She no longer hides, but seeks affection. Annie remains skittish, but she has also learned to enjoy quiet time with her human companions. She loves to be pet and enjoys her treats (purring all the while). Because of the tremendous progress she has made, BHS believes she will, with time, become a wonderful pet for the right person. Annie will likely be very wary of a new person in her life, but because she has shown she has the capacity to trust and welcome human affection, we are sure that she will thrive in the right environment. Annie is a beautiful, young, healthy kitty with the sweetest little kitten face! She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and vaccinated. Annie seems to want to make friends with her foster’s big dog, so we believe she would be ok in a home with a canine companion. If you have it in your heart to give Annie a chance at the safe, loving home she deserves, please visit our website at bhsva.org and fill out an application.
