SHY CAT SPECIAL - from now through Valentine's Day 2026, invite a SHY CAT home for just $20! Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing the Chips Kittens These resilient little survivors came to us from a large feral colony where we conducted a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project. While they weren't quite feral enough to be returned to outdoor life, they also needed some extra time and love to become fully socialized. Thanks to the dedication of our amazing staff and volunteers, these sweet but slightly shy kittens have made incredible progress and are now ready to find loving homes! Shortly after their rescue, the Chips kittens faced a big challenge — they were diagnosed with Feline Panleukopenia (the feline version of parvo). With round-the-clock care and lots of TLC, every single one of them pulled through — a true miracle! Today, they are happy, playful, and thriving. The only lasting effect is a bit of food sensitivity, which is easily managed with Royal Canin’s special gastrointestinal formula — and they’re doing great on it! If you're looking to adopt a kitten with a heartwarming rescue story and a whole lot of love to give, one of the Chips crew might just be your perfect match. Fritos, a short haired tabby and white boy born 3/20/25, is more laid back and confident than many of his buddies, though he would still prefer to avoid keggers and toddler birthday parties. He's not yet a big fan of being picked up, but petting is A-OK if you're respectful! Here is more information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat We give shy cats an extended 60-day trial adoption period, to give you extra time to bond. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Fritos SHY CAT SPECIAL is a suggested minimum of $20 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/applicationPlease do not call the shelter; do the application first. Brie (female, orange tabby with some dark spots on her nose, tipped ear, shorter kinked tail), Colby (male, buff tabby, tipped ear, curly tail), and Camembert (female, orange tabby with tiny white spot on throat, full ear, normal tail) were born about 5/30/25, and came in as part of a feral colony on which we were doing Trap-Neuter-Return. This trio transferred into our adoption program because, although they are shy, they are not mean like actual feral cats, AND their orange coloring makes them unsuitable for life back with the colony (orange and light colored cats in our area are, unfortunately, easy prey for our coyotes, eagles, and owls). They have been coming along nicely with their socialization, though will still need calm, patient families who are willing to give them time to blossom at their own pace. As you can see in the video, they are VERY treat motivated, and we'll send them out with some "starter Churus" to help you begin the bonding process. Colby is the bravest, while the girls both retain more of the "stranger danger" instincts. Camembert enjoys the laser pointer most.
