Story
Tabitha is a sweet girl. She was one of the most shy and anxious cats we've ever had, but now she comes up to play or receive pets whenever she sees us. She is used to being around other cats and is getting more social with people. She loves to play with her feather or with her balls or toy mice when she is alone. She is vaccinated and litterbox trained. She comes with a kennel, a bed, a litter box, toys, a water bowel, and a flea & tick treatment. She has no rehoming fees.

Story
Meet Bastet, a three-and-a-half-year-old Domestic Shorthaired cat. Bastet is a stunning calico beauty with the softest green eyes you’ve ever seen. Petite and delicate, she’s about the size of a 6-month-old kitten, making her irresistibly dainty and easy to fall in love with at first sight. She came to us as an owner surrender due to a change in lifestyle, but she hasn’t let that dim her affectionate spirit one bit. Bastet absolutely adores people — in fact, she loves so hard that when she rubs up against you for attention, she sometimes gets a little carried away and topples right over. It’s as charming as it sounds. This sweet girl is all about connection. She’ll happily follow you around, nuzzle into your legs, and soak up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Bastet would thrive in a home where she can be cherished, doted on, and included as a true member of the family. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Lea, a six-month-old female cat.Lea’s story is a heartbreaking one. She was found in a car alongside two dogs and her owner, who had unfortunately passed away. Since coming into our care, it’s become clear that she hasn’t had much socialization, and the world can feel like a big, scary place to her right now.Lea is not your typical cuddly house cat—but that doesn’t mean she isn’t deserving of love and a chance at a better life. She is still learning to feel safe around people and tends to keep her distance. Because of this, we believe she would thrive most in a barn or working cat environment, where she can have shelter, regular meals, and gentle care without the pressure of close human interaction. That said, Lea does show little glimpses of curiosity—especially when it comes to toys—which gives us hope that, with time, patience, and a very understanding adopter, she could continue to grow.If you’re considering welcoming Lea into an indoor home, please know it will take a significant commitment. She will need time, consistency, and a lot of patience to build trust at her own pace.Lea may not be the kind of cat who curls up in your lap, but she still deserves safety, stability, and kindness. Whether as a barn companion or a long-term project for a dedicated adopter, she’s waiting for someone willing to meet her where she is.This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Twinkle Toes, a three-year-old Domestic Medium Hair cat.Twinkle Toes is a sweet, loving boy who’s looking for a patient and caring home to call his own. He was surrendered due to a change in his owner’s lifestyle, and while that transition has made him a little shy at first, there’s a truly affectionate kitty just waiting to shine. He’s lived indoors his whole life and, according to his previous owner, is litter box trained. Twinkle Toes can be a bit of a scaredy cat in new environments and may hide while he adjusts—but give him a little time, a calm space, and some kindness, and you’ll start to see his gentle personality come through.Once he feels safe, he absolutely loves attention—especially those magical butt scratches! That’s the quickest way to win him over and earn his trust (and probably a few happy wiggles, too).Twinkle Toes would do best in a quiet, understanding home where he can build confidence at his own pace and be loved for the sweet, sensitive boy he is. If you have a soft spot for shy kitties and the patience to let them bloom, Twinkle Toes could be your perfect match. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
