Story
Meet Keanu, a 8 month old Domestic Shorthair.Keanu is a delightful, tender-hearted boy who would thrive in a tranquil environment. He enjoys the company of other cats and would thrive in a household with feline companions. He is not particularly fond of being held, but he thoroughly enjoys receiving affectionate pets. Every now and then, he may even seek out your lap for some additional love. He kindly requests for some time to adjust to his new environment, allowing him to demonstrate his affectionate and endearing nature. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Toes is a prissy kitty full of spunk and personality. She's sassy but also very sweet. She loves attention and hates when she's not the center of it. She's prone to jealousy and also loves to make the other cats jealous. Her favorite thing to do is to rub and gently nibble on your toes. This might be painful to small children, therefore she wouldn't make a suitable pet for them. Although she isn't suitable for small children, she might do okay with older children as she loves to play. Even tho she is playful, she also has a chill side and is the perfect lap cat. Toes is a misandrist and hates male cats. The only male cats she will tolerate are her siblings. She would do okay with a female cat, so long as the cat isn't of the grumpy type. Toes doesn't understand boundaries and would likely get in her face or try to make her jealous. Toes loves to have raw meat as a treat. If you're someone who prefers to feed your cats a raw diet, it will be a very easy transition for her.

Story
Shy Guy is a sweet and timid boy. He's ready to settle down in a quiet home with his Mama Kitty who he loves very much. Shy Guy is very insecure and relies on his Mama for comfort, therefore it doesn't feel right to separate them. Shy Guy needs an owner with the patience to deal with his timidness. It is likely that he will always be a little bit afraid of you, but if you apply a gentle approach, sometimes he will come out of his shell and show you affection. Because of his timidness, Shy Guy is not an appropriate pet for homes with dogs or children or homes that are noisy. He might do okay with other cats so long as that cat is friendly. Shy Guy doesn't really understand boundaries so he won't do well with a cat that needs their space. We reccomend keeping him exclusively inside, as he likes to run out in the middle of roads. You can read more about his bonded pair here: https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/39659107-wapato-washington-cat

Story
CoyJoy is, as his name suggests, both coy and a joy to be around. He got his name from the markings in his coat. They look like a captcha that reads "Coy" on one side and "Joy" on the other. He was born with his name written in his fur, so we reccomend keeping it. It also matches his personality. You can call him just Joy or CoyJoy. CoyJoy is a very sweet and talkative boy. When he was a kitten he would go over to the farmers house and nurse off his sheep. As a result he has a very plush coat and a wobbly meow that almost sounds like a sheep. It sounded much more like a sheep when he was younger, so we believe he was trying to imitate them. We don't let him outside to visit the sheep anymore as he likes to run out in the middle of the road. We reccomend keeping him inside as well, although he misses his freedom. We think he might be a cat that enjoys going on walks. You can adopt CoyJoy by himself or with his sister Toes. Her pet ID is 5048516

Story
Zali takes a while to warm up to people, at least a couple weeks. She needs a home with no small children and preferably no other pets but an easy going small dog would be ok. A quiet home where she can sit with someone and cuddle would be best for her. She needs to stay inside as she is declawed in the front and can't protect/defend herself. She is afraid of big dogs even if they are friendly. Once she warms up to you you will have trouble keeping her off you. She curls up next to you at night and is a great snuggler. She is 7yrs old, was found abandoned in a Best Buy parking lot as a kitten and lived happily for 4 years until the family started to grow. After years of trying she showed no desire to warm up to the small children and we feel it's not fair for her to live in hiding. She has been rehomed a couple times but that's how we found out she is very afraid of large dogs. She's very sweet and really deserves a quiet home with someone whose lap she can sit on and get lots of pets.
