Story
Nice 7 month old cat. Rescued from Wood Cty Humane Oct. 2025 Food, food, dish, new litter box, litter and toys, 3 scratching posts all included. Mousing instincts! Has claws! Very curious. Likes to be petted. Would LOVE to go outside, hasn't yet. Needs to be loved as an active cat. Loves to play with you morning, day, evening. Gets the cat "zoomies" in the evening. Loves to sleep on foot of bed, follow you into bathroom. Spends hours looking out window from comfy chair Keep curtains open to avoid a very frustrated cat, DAY and NIGHT Because of claws, originally attacked our upholstered chairs. Matured alot in 3 wks, a stern NO! means stop that. But sometimes can't help herself, prefers upholstery to scratching posts, although laying posts on their side can entice her. Seems to keep off counter tops after shown that's where we "keep" banana peels, onion slices and grapefruit rinds. We might be kidding ourselves but have not seen her on cupboards.

Story
Meet Tiger – Gentle, Loving, and Devoted Companion Tiger is a calm, affectionate male tabby with a quiet sweetness that makes him an instant heart-stealer. He’s one of four cats we’re currently fostering after stepping in to help a friend going through difficult life changes. While we’ve loved having him with us, we’re sadly unable to keep him long-term due to our limited space and home renovations. Tiger is incredibly loving—he enjoys gentle attention, quiet lap time, and the company of both people and other animals. He’s been respectful and easygoing around our dog and lives peacefully with several other cats. What makes Tiger truly special is his close bond with Maggie, his companion and best friend. They’re often found snuggled together or following each other around the house. Because of this strong connection, we’re hoping they can be adopted as a pair—they provide each other with comfort, confidence, and love. Please take a moment to read Maggie’s post too.

Story
Meet Maggie – The Ultimate Lovebug Maggie is a sweet, snuggly tabby with a heart full of love and a gentle, affectionate spirit. She was one of the first to warm up to us when we stepped in to help a friend rehome their beloved cats due to unexpected life changes. Although we wish we could keep her, our current living situation and home renovation project mean we can only foster her temporarily. Maggie thrives on companionship—she loves being close and will happily curl up on your lap or claim the softest spot in the room for a cozy nap. She has a playful side too, but it’s her loving nature that really shines. She quickly bonded with our dog and lives peacefully alongside four other cats. Ideally, Maggie would be adopted with her best buddy, Tiger—a gentle, affectionate male tabby she’s especially close with. Their bond is heartwarming, and they bring out the best in each other. Please see our post about Tiger for more details.

Story
Elgie came in as one hot mess. She was missing fur that seemed to be a flea allergy. Her eyes were crusted shut. Despite it all she just wanted love. For her eyes she was actually suffering from entropion, where her own lashes curled inward and irritated her eyes. Our vet was able to correct this with surgery. As to her skin, that was a tougher matter to figure out and just when we thought we had it corrected with food and allergy medicine, bam, some kittens came in with ringworm and Elgie caught it. It takes a long time to treat and being stuck in a cage all that time really took a toll on her. She fights and hisses when picked up because she thinks she`s being put back in her cage or getting more medicine. We know sweet Elgie is still in there, but it will take being in a home and finally being able to relax for it to come out. She also would like to be the only kitty. We hope there is someone willing to give her a chance, even though she will probably be so rude to you when you meet her!

Story
A strikingly beautiful, senior kitty of indeterminate age (our Vet says at least 8 yrs) Maybelle came in as a stray. She needed a dental cleaning and removal of some problem teeth. Her favorite place to be is on some high place in her room looking down on everything. She has quite a loud meow. Maybe due to hearing loss, or maybe just to get her point across. She likes attention and being where you are, but isn`t pushy about it.

Story
My sister Fallon and I are still kind of scared. We had to be trapped to be brought here. I just can`t bring myself to walk up to people yet, but when they pick me up and start cuddling me my motor starts going and the pets feel so good. I`m sure I can build my courage!
