Story
Meet Ping Ping, affectionately known as Ping or Pingers! This beautiful Aussie girl is looking for the forever family she's been waiting for, and we think her perfect match is out there. Ping's story has included a few more transitions than we'd like for any dog. Over her nearly two years, she's spent time in shelters, foster homes, and even an adoption that ultimately wasn't the right fit. Through it all, she has remained the same sweet, gentle soul who just wants a family to call her own. As an Australian Shepherd, Ping comes with all the wonderful traits that make Aussies so special. She's smart, active, playful, and happiest when she has something to do. This isn't a couch-potato breed, and Ping is no exception! She thrives with activity, engagement, and people who enjoy having a canine sidekick for life's adventures. One thing we've noticed? Ping absolutely lights up around energetic kids. She loves being part of the action and seems to enjoy having playmates who can help burn off some of that Aussie energy throughout the day. Despite her playful side, Ping is incredibly sweet and gentle. She's not food aggressive, gets along well with other dogs, and tends to be more submissive than pushy. She'd much rather avoid conflict than create it. Her ideal home would include a secure fenced yard and, if possible, a doggie door. Having the freedom to go outside when she needs to has been a game changer for her. Since having that access, she's done wonderfully and no longer seems to have issues with accidents in the house. She enjoys her toys, chews appropriately, and has proven herself to be a respectful house guest. Mostly, she just wants to be near her people and included in whatever fun is happening. After experiencing so much change in her young life, we'd love nothing more than to see Ping finally land where she belongs—a family committed to giving her the stability, activity, and love she deserves. Could Ping Ping be your perfect match? ❤️ All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Story
Osiris may take a little time to warm up, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover a goofy, loyal best friend with a heart that’s absolutely worth the wait. This 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix (61 lbs) is house-trained, quietly intelligent, and full of personality once he feels safe. At first, he takes his time getting to know new people, but he’s already shown what’s possible when someone invests in him. The staff at Wish Bone took that time, and now they get to see the real Osiris—goofy, playful, and affectionate. He’s a classic “watch first, trust later” kind of guy. In a home environment, you’ll often find him lounging on the couch, keeping tabs on the outside world like it’s his favorite reality show. But when he’s comfortable? Cue the zoomies. His silly side comes alive, especially enjoying his favorite toys. Osiris enjoys walks, car rides, and a good chew session, and he generally walks nicely on leash…unless a critter makes a guest appearance. Then his herding instincts kick in and it’s game on. He can also be a bit mouthy in play, and needs an adopter willing to work with him on manners. Because he startles easily and is still building confidence, Osiris is looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced in herding breeds. He’ll do best in a quieter home with few visitors, or one where he has a safe, comfortable space to retreat to when company comes over. He thrives on routine, patience, and people who respect his space. With patience, understanding, and a little time, Osiris blossoms into an incredibly devoted companion. The people who know him best have already seen how much love, personality, and potential he has to give, and the right home is going to be rewarded with one very special dog. His minimum adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents (if applicable). He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
