Story
We adopted him from Once Upon a Prayer Rescue in O'Fallon, IL. He is 4 years old. He is a very anxious dog and has a hard time just sitting next to us, but when he does it is so heartwarming. We did anxiety medicine for a bit to see if we noticed a change and we did, but we couldn't afford it anymore. If you have a front window, then he is constantly looking out it. He will bark at anyone who is walking in front of the house. You will always know when someone is here. LOL. He is an attention seeking dog. Loves to go on walks but doesn't like to be outside by himself in the backyard. If he gets out of the backyard, he will go to the front door and scratch at it because he can't stand to be away from you. Don't leave food out on counters or else he will jump up and snag it. He went to obedience school. He is a big dog but thinks he is a little dog which can be an issue with kids and cats.

Story
Name: Rebel Age: 11 months Breed: Border Collie mix Size: 45 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Rebel is an 11-month-old Border Collie mix with energy to spare and a personality that’s as big as his zoomies. Rebel was an owner surrender due to his owner being older and not being able to handle him being such an active dog. True to his name, he’s always ready for action—whether that’s chasing a ball, learning a new trick, or turning the yard into his personal playground. Smart and alert, Rebel thrives when his mind and body stay busy. Rebel will do very well with people who understand his breed and can give him ways to exert all of his expendable energy. He is the type of dog that would do well with a job. This bright young pup would love a home that enjoys an active lifestyle and can keep up with his enthusiasm for adventure. Border Collie mixes are known for their intelligence, and Rebel is no exception—he’s eager to learn and ready to impress with the right guidance and positive training. Rebel is still growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be and would shine with a family ready to channel his energy into fun, learning, and plenty of playtime. Reble already knows basic commands and would definitely be able to learn more advanced commands. If you’re looking for a lively sidekick who will keep life exciting, Rebel is ready to lead the charge. 🐾 Rebel's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Rebel please fill out our online application here: (https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 - Dog). A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions.
