History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Ready to Adopt? Meet Poppy, the Perfect Companion! At just 2 years old, Poppy is a delightful blend of a mature, well-mannered dog and a fun-loving pup! Her spirit is energetic and playful, but she’s also a wonderful companion who knows how to relax. Personality: She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and thrives on getting attention from her humans. Behavior: She is remarkably quiet for her age and consistently maintains a clean kennel both day and night—a true indicator of her house-training potential! Social Life: She is a social butterfly, happily playing with dogs of all sizes. She has shown no issues being around children and would fit beautifully into a family setting. Outings: She is great on the leash, making walks enjoyable and easy! Poppy is looking for a home where she can share her boundless love and energy. History: We recently welcomed a litter of 2 local heeler puppies who needed a second chance. They arrived to rescue happy and such sweet girls who are each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon! A Note from the Foster: She is getting used to going to the door when she needs to go potty, yay! She loves to play and has taken a shine to a tug of war rope we got her. She is pretty well behaved besides her puppy crazy puppy times. She likes to chew so we have gotten her crinkly toys and those sorts of things besides the chew bones (not much interest on the chew bones often, more toy oriented) she like slippers so keep those away! She will curl up at your feet (wherever you are) for nap time. She is still learning to walk on a leash, but she doesnt pull, just doesnt walk straight 🤪

History: We recently welcomed a litter of 2 local heeler puppies who needed a second chance. They arrived to rescue happy and such sweet girls who are each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi there! My name is Victoria, but you can call me Vicki, V, or “that adorable blur dashing across the living room.” I’m a 12-week-old heeler mix with supermodel good looks, silky soft fur, and a tail that never stops wagging! Let me tell you a little about myself: I LOVE to play—stuffies, tug-of-war, you name it! I’m a fast learner, too (especially if snacks are involved). I already know how to sit and I’m working hard on my stay, fetch, and roll over games. My foster mom says I’m rocking both leash and potty training—I even keep my crate clean and am peaceful all night long (dreaming of toys and adventures, of course). And did I mention belly rubs? They are my absolute FAVORITE! I’ll flop over and show my belly to anyone with gentle hands and a little love to spare. I have a bestie here, an 8-year-old mini poodle, and I think she’s amazing! I try to copy everything she does (sometimes she gives me that “puppy, please chill” look, but I can’t help my zoomies). When we’re tuckered out, I love a good snuggle and nap. While I don’t live with cats, I met some nice kitties at the groomer while getting my hair done, and we got along just fine. I was polite and curious—no puppy drama, just good vibes all around! I’m looking for a forever family that will cheer me on as I learn, toss my favorite toys, teach me more tricks, and give the best belly scratches ever. Are you ready for puppy kisses, silly antics, and lots of love? Maybe we’re meant to be! 💚 If you’d like to meet me, go ahead and fill out an adoption application. I’ll be waiting to roll over and greet you with my cutest head tilt! Walk up song: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper

Story
History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Hi, I’m Buster! I’m a 5-month-old Heeler mix (my mom’s a German Shepherd, so I come from smart, loyal stock). I’m the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and snuggly sidekick vibes. I’m crate trained, 99% potty trained, and I already know my manners; sit, shake, lay down. I’m working hard on not jumping up when I get excited (it’s just hard not to love people that much!). I’m also not a counter-surfer… unless I smell bacon… then all bets are off. I live with two dogs, one’s my best playmate and the other tolerates me like a grumpy uncle. There are also cats here; I’m curious about them but respectful. I lived with a little kid when I was in Texas but not here in Minnesota, but I’m a friendly guy who loves attention, so I’d probably do great with respectful kiddos. If you’re looking for a smart, happy, loyal pup who’s ready to learn and love big, I’m your guy! Let’s start our adventure together! 💙 Buster

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barbie is a 1.5-year-old mini-Aussie mix with a big personality wrapped in a medium-sized body. Her absolute favorite thing in the world is you—your love, your attention, your lap, and of course your belly rubs. She’s known for her “barrel rolls,” flopping over for scritches any chance she gets. Barbie may start out a little timid when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes and you’ll have a new best friend by your side. She’s a spunky, active girl who loves fetch, tug, zooming around the yard with furry friends, and exploring on walks. She’s fast and has a tall vertical jump so she may be a good fit for agility or other activities that challenge her mind and body.  She would be a good fit for a fenced-in backyard, a lead line, or with someone committed to helping her play out all her Aussie energy. Barbie is also a smart cookie. She’s potty trained, sleeps through the night in her kennel, and already knows sit and shake/paw. She comes when called and is working on new tricks.  She would love a person or family to help her keep using her mind to learn new things (and she thinks the treats are fun too). Barbie would thrive with a person or family who enjoys time outdoors, playtime, and of course, couch time cuddle breaks. She even likes the snow! She would do well with a tolerant or playful dog friend, though her energy may be a bit much for more mellow pups. She's still learning boundaries when other dogs are done playing but she wants to play more. She has lived with young children but may do best with kids who can respect her need for slow introductions, play safely, and understand her Aussie smarts.  Speaking of smarts, her nose knows where the treats are - both dog and human - so she's still learning not to be a food thief.  She hasn't gotten into anything but we’ve caught her curiously jumping up on her hind legs to see what’s on the counter/table.  As you can see from her pictures, she’s got longer, super soft hair (you’ll have to trust us on the softness for now) but keep in mind if you adopt her, she'll need someone to maintain her hair with regular brushing and grooming.  Good news is, she loves getting brushed - its relaxing like the spa!  If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with puppy-dog eyes and a heart full of love, Barbie is ready to be your girl. She can’t wait to find her forever home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Henrietta is a sweet and intelligent dog, waiting for a calm, loving home.   As an Aussie mix, Henrietta is a  very  intelligent dog. She is not particularly high energy, but needs daily mental stimulation on top of exercise. She is learning several tricks and has mastered several puzzle toys. She has also picked up how to ask to go outside. (She may have overused that knowledge when the weather was warm, but she is backing off a bit now that the weather is colder.)   When she has had enough exercise and mental work, Henrietta will relax in her crate. It really is her favorite place, and she will default to resting in her crate, even when encouraged to be out. She loves getting attention or just being near you, though she does take some time to be comfortable around new people.    Henrietta is adapting well to living in a home. She sometimes gets startled by new sounds, but is quickly becoming accustomed to her surroundings. She is crate-trained and finds her crate to be a safe place. She will retreat to it when she is scared. She is just starting to feel comfortable enough to explore her surroundings. She is very sensitive and eager to please. If she starts exploring something that isn’t for her, calling her or giving a calm redirect is all she needs. She would not do well with firm corrections or loud shouting.   Although Henrietta is making great progress in her foster home, there are some things that she will need to be successful in her new family. She is small, and unknown people standing over her scare her. She will come to those who are sitting or crouching on her level. She would do best in a home without small children, and with people who understand that loud, quick movements will make her nervous. She will need a family that can give her time and space to feel safe and get down on her level with her.   When Henrietta came to rescue, it was stated that she is an escape artist. At first, she tried backing out of her harness, so she will definitely need a good harness and not just a collar for walks or trips to the yard. She will also do best with a fenced yard or a quiet neighborhood as long walks are probably not in the cards for Henrietta until she feels comfortable in her surroundings.   As you earn her trust, she can be given more freedom. She can now be loose in the fenced yard at her foster home, as she will come when called. She really likes being with her person and does not want to be left behind, but first she needs to see you as her person. Henrietta will not even go into the yard now unless her foster mom is in the yard with her. (No watching from the relative shelter of the porch, for this one.)   Henrietta does not seem to be comfortable around other dogs. She isn’t aggressive, but she is very intimidated by them. She shows curiosity towards them when crated in the same room or through a gate, but will not come out of the crate and into the room while even one dog is in the same room. Even a play bow from across the room will start her shaking in her crate if the door is open. She does not initiate any interactions when outside together and prefers to keep her distance, but does not start shaking like she does inside. Hopefully this changes as she gains more confidence. She would not do well with a dog that does not give her space at first.   Henrietta will be a wonderful addition to the right home. She is so sweet and happy and brave.
