Story
*Nosh’s adoption fee has been sponsored thanks to a generous donor*Hello, I’m Nosh! I am a 2 ½ year old lady looking for the perfect sanctuary to call my very own. I am housetrained and ready to settle into a cozy and quiet home. I am not particularly fond of kids, men or my kennel. When my foster mom is away from the house I calmly rest on the couch until she arrives back home. I am always so excited to see her when they come home! I will thrive with a patient and understanding adopter who will give me the time and space to adjust to my new surroundings. New things are very scary to me! But once I get settled in, I am very loyal and I promise to snuggle with you often! I will need a home that has a fenced in yard as I don’t like to do my business when people are too close to me. I enjoy going for walks in quiet places. My foster mom usually takes me for a stroll through our neighborhood but she makes sure we keep our distance from others. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion who appreciates a peaceful life, I might just be your girl! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $0To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
DOB 7.25.25 Kelpie/Chihuahua mix Kennel trained Dog friendly (submissive) Vaccinated, microchipped, neutered Weight: about 20 pounds Engaging and people friendly Meet Marlon Brandog — the charming older puppy with a heart of gold. This handsome boy is friendly, goofy, and endlessly affectionate. He greets people with wagging tail and bright eyes, loves cuddles, and is happiest when included in family activities. He's a smaller breed (he's kind of a mystery) and is relatively quiet. Marlon is dog-friendly and sociable — he enjoys playtime and makes fast friends with other pups. Calm enough for relaxed evenings but playful enough for walks and games, he’s an easygoing companion for many home types. He responds well to gentle, consistent guidance and kindness.. Ideal home: someone who wants a loyal, affectionate dog with puppy energy tempered by a sensible, older-puppy temperament. Great with other dogs, ready to join family outings, and eager to give and receive love. Interested in meeting Marlon Brandog? Come say hello — he’s ready to steal your heart. Story
GUST AND HIS BEST FRIENDS PLAN TO BE AT A MEET AND GREET SUNDAY DECEMBER 7 12:30 -2:30 AT PET EVOLUTION ON 1074 GRAND IN ST. PAUL. COME AND CUDDLE AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A FRIEND FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Gust and his siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Gust looks like he is going to be a bit taller than some of his siblings and we expect he will be a mid-sized dog when he is full grown. We did DNA testing on Gust but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Gust has some Doxi and maybe some cattle dog in this mix. (Rumor has it that there is a male cattle dog on a neighboring ranch.) The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, (he weighed 7.6# on 12-1) vaccinated and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barbie is a 1.5-year-old mini-Aussie mix with a big personality wrapped in a medium-sized body. Her absolute favorite thing in the world is you—your love, your attention, your lap, and of course your belly rubs. She’s known for her “barrel rolls,” flopping over for scritches any chance she gets. Barbie may start out a little timid when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes and you’ll have a new best friend by your side. She’s a spunky, active girl who loves fetch, tug, zooming around the yard with furry friends, and exploring on walks. She’s fast and has a tall vertical jump so she may be a good fit for agility or other activities that challenge her mind and body.  She would be a good fit for a fenced-in backyard, a lead line, or with someone committed to helping her play out all her Aussie energy. Barbie is also a smart cookie. She’s potty trained, sleeps through the night in her kennel, and already knows sit and shake/paw. She comes when called and is working on new tricks.  She would love a person or family to help her keep using her mind to learn new things (and she thinks the treats are fun too). Barbie would thrive with a person or family who enjoys time outdoors, playtime, and of course, couch time cuddle breaks. She even likes the snow! She would do well with a tolerant or playful dog friend, though her energy may be a bit much for more mellow pups. She's still learning boundaries when other dogs are done playing but she wants to play more. She has lived with young children but may do best with kids who can respect her need for slow introductions, play safely, and understand her Aussie smarts.  Speaking of smarts, her nose knows where the treats are - both dog and human - so she's still learning not to be a food thief.  She hasn't gotten into anything but we’ve caught her curiously jumping up on her hind legs to see what’s on the counter/table.  As you can see from her pictures, she’s got longer, super soft hair (you’ll have to trust us on the softness for now) but keep in mind if you adopt her, she'll need someone to maintain her hair with regular brushing and grooming.  Good news is, she loves getting brushed - its relaxing like the spa!  If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with puppy-dog eyes and a heart full of love, Barbie is ready to be your girl. She can’t wait to find her forever home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Roko - who goes by Naz Reid in his foster home, as he is of course a big Timberwolves fan! Naz is about as close to perfect as they come. He loves everyone he meets, enjoys getting out and about on adventures, is fully house and crate trained, and well behaved in the home. He is past the puppy shenanigans at about 4 years of age and is a nice medium size at around 45 pounds.  Naz is a smart, social dog who is highly food motivated and quick to learn. He currently lives with a runner and is an excellent running dog, but he would be just as happy to be a walking or hiking buddy. He frequently makes trips to local breweries and to the Home Depot and is always a perfect gentleman. Naz is chill in the house, but he is not a couch potato and his ideal home would be looking for a dog that wants to get out and do things. He is the perfect sidekick and would be the perfect adventure buddy. If you like hiking, camping, road tripping, checking out the local patio scene - this is your guy! Though Naz is almost perfect, everyone has a quirk. His are minor (unless you happen to be a rabbit). He does have a high prey drive and is always on the hunt for rabbits, squirrels, etc. If you happen to be into dog sports, this translated really well to barn hunt and lure coursing when he tried it for fun at a local event. And although he has never jumped our 4 foot wooden fence, he is very capable of jumping the gate inside the home. Given his prey drive and athletic abilities, I would not trust him in a shorter chain link fence. I imagine if he saw a rabbit outside of it, he would quickly find his way over the fence.  Naz currently lives with other dogs, two kids (ages 5 and 8), and cats. Naz was treated for heartworm and will need to be kept up to date on heartworm preventatives year round. If you are looking for your next adventure buddy, Naz is your guy! Apply today. He is simply amazing!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Henrietta is a sweet and intelligent dog, waiting for a calm, loving home.   As an Aussie mix, Henrietta is a  very  intelligent dog. She is not particularly high energy, but needs daily mental stimulation on top of exercise. She is learning several tricks and has mastered several puzzle toys. She has also picked up how to ask to go outside. (She may have overused that knowledge when the weather was warm, but she is backing off a bit now that the weather is colder.)   When she has had enough exercise and mental work, Henrietta will relax in her crate. It really is her favorite place, and she will default to resting in her crate, even when encouraged to be out. She loves getting attention or just being near you, though she does take some time to be comfortable around new people.    Henrietta is adapting well to living in a home. She sometimes gets startled by new sounds, but is quickly becoming accustomed to her surroundings. She is crate-trained and finds her crate to be a safe place. She will retreat to it when she is scared. She is just starting to feel comfortable enough to explore her surroundings. She is very sensitive and eager to please. If she starts exploring something that isn’t for her, calling her or giving a calm redirect is all she needs. She would not do well with firm corrections or loud shouting.   Although Henrietta is making great progress in her foster home, there are some things that she will need to be successful in her new family. She is small, and unknown people standing over her scare her. She will come to those who are sitting or crouching on her level. She would do best in a home without small children, and with people who understand that loud, quick movements will make her nervous. She will need a family that can give her time and space to feel safe and get down on her level with her.   When Henrietta came to rescue, it was stated that she is an escape artist. At first, she tried backing out of her harness, so she will definitely need a good harness and not just a collar for walks or trips to the yard. She will also do best with a fenced yard or a quiet neighborhood as long walks are probably not in the cards for Henrietta until she feels comfortable in her surroundings.   As you earn her trust, she can be given more freedom. She can now be loose in the fenced yard at her foster home, as she will come when called. She really likes being with her person and does not want to be left behind, but first she needs to see you as her person. Henrietta will not even go into the yard now unless her foster mom is in the yard with her. (No watching from the relative shelter of the porch, for this one.)   Henrietta does not seem to be comfortable around other dogs. She isn’t aggressive, but she is very intimidated by them. She shows curiosity towards them when crated in the same room or through a gate, but will not come out of the crate and into the room while even one dog is in the same room. Even a play bow from across the room will start her shaking in her crate if the door is open. She does not initiate any interactions when outside together and prefers to keep her distance, but does not start shaking like she does inside. Hopefully this changes as she gains more confidence. She would not do well with a dog that does not give her space at first.   Henrietta will be a wonderful addition to the right home. She is so sweet and happy and brave.
