Story
Approx. DOB: 5/5/18                Approx. Weight: 69 Lbs Adoption Fee: $ 225   includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! We are not sure what Diamond is. The vet clinic listed as a Bearded Collie, however on the surrender form it said Sheepdog/ Australian Shepherd.  Whatever she is, she is definitely a beauty! Diamond would do best in a home where her humans are home more than not. She does have some separation anxiety. She will whine when you first put her in the crate but I tell her it's bedtime and she settles in. I think her having another dog in her new family will also help any anxiety she may feel being left alone during the day. She does well with the other dogs in her foster home and has had no issues with any of them. However, she has been returned 2x now due to having separation anxiety and for having a tussle with the other dog in the home. She definitely enjoys her humans and lights up when you return. She originally came from a family with children and did well with our volunteers daughter (11 yrs). She will need a dog savvy owner. Diamond absolutely loves going for car rides and she loves going on walks. Are you looking for a walking or jogging buddy you have found her! Diamond is going to make some lucky family a wonderful companion. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is very well behaved in the home. And just look at those beautiful blue eyes she has!  I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Approx. DOB:  4/29/18                Approx Weight: 29 Lbs Adoption Fee: $225  includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Bert came to Furry Kids from a rural MO shelter after the shelter flooded a couple weeks ago.  Bert is in a foster home with other dogs and cats but loves his foster Mom the best, he is her shadow. His foster Mom felt that he seemed a bit traumatized but has been doing better every day.  She said he is housebroken, but she has to force him to go out. He did some marking the first couple of days but that has stopped. He completely ignores the cats. He has acted like he wanted to play a time or two but mostly pays no attention to the dogs. A fenced yard would be ideal for Bert.  I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  Bert also had a dental this week. If you are interested in adopting him, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
