Story
My husband & I found Penny (and her “sister” Luna) roaming alongside a roadway in Houston. The next day we brought them to the SPCA to have them checked out - they had worms & fleas so we had them treated but thankfully they were overall in good health. We found out that they were 3 mos. old. Penny & Luna were attached to myself and my husband so we kept them! Penny is about 7 yrs old now. She’s a super smart girl, she’s really energetic and protective of those close to her. She’s potty-trained, good around kids (we have a toddler and an infant) & great with other dogs. She’s well-trained & knows sit, sit pretty (begging position), lay down, “paw”(shake right paw), “other” (left paw shake), twirl, “go inside” (go inside doggie den). She’s really a great dog, but with our jobs, 2 young ones & no family in the area to help, it’s become difficult to give her everything she needs & deserves with outdoor exercise, variety of walking trails, playtime, etc.

Story
Hi, I'm Scout! I'm really shy at first, but it only took me .0003 seconds to warm up and start playing with my big brothers in my foster home. I'm not sure how to play with toys yet, but I definitely like playing tug-of-war with my big brother's fluffy tail. I won't sit still for very long for foster mommy to take photos, but I am learning some commands because I get treats. I'm also learning that we go outside to potty, but I might have some accidents inside because I'm still a baby. I am a very active pup with lots of energy. I like running around, and I'm learning how to dog. I also like cuddling and kisses from mommy because it makes me feel safe. If you adopt me, I promise I'll keep you on your toes and shower you with lots of puppy kisses and puppy breath. Scout is a Female Aussie/Cattle Dog Mix that we estimate to be born around 2/5/24 and as of 4/15, she weighed 12 lbs.

If you would like more information about Alfie or are interested in adopting him, please send an email to Dutton.g.luke@gmail.com Our apartment complex is no longer allowing us to keep our dog Alfie due to a neighbor’s complaint. We are stuck in our lease until October, so we are unable to continue to care for him. He’s such a sweet soul and will love you every second of the day. He has very puppy energy and gets excited. He loves kisses and pets. Alfie is great with our almost 2-year-old child and he is crate trained. He is getting better at not tugging on the leash (something we have been working on). We rescued Alfie from an abuse situation, and he still can cower if you tell him no or course correct. He is house trained and will notify you if he needs to go out but does not need to go out more than 2 times a day for the bathroom. He is up to date on all of his shots and vaccinations. Alfie loves the dog park and being around other dogs; if there is water he will try and swim. He is used to being indoors but also excels in outdoor activities.
