Story
Callie is 1.5 years old and weighs about 78 pounds. She is gentle, polite and calm, has good house manners, and is completely housebroken. She is low to medium energy; she naps a lot and loves to chill around the house, but as a pup, she displays spurts of playfulness and energy, such as when she gets to play with other dogs. When lounging around the house, she uses all of the spots: my bed, her bed, the rug, the floor, the couch, and the bathtub. Callie is a good leash walker and uses a harness occasionally as well. She currently lives in midtown Atlanta with her foster parent. However, she has shown an aversion to loud sounds from cars, trucks, horns and airbrakes, and would likely do best with a fenced yard or an environment where she can run around without too many loud cars around. Callie has shown interest in a few squirrels, but does not show an intense prey drive. She gets along with other dogs, and says hi to the neighbor’s dog Ranger often. When playing with other dogs, she does well, but is sometimes klutzy or awkward as if she just hasn’t had enough experience doing so yet. She seems to get along with the cats she has encountered, but has not spent significant time with cats. Callie is a non-chewer and is not destructive, so your shoes are safe. She does not counter-surf, even though she loves her treats. She does not need to be crated, but will go in the crate if instructed and has been crated before. Callie knows basic commands, such as sit, stay, come and down. As a shepherd, Callie has some guard dog traits, and will sometimes alert bark if something in the environment changes (she sees a stranger come to the door, etc.). Callie is great with touching and loves to have her ears rubbed. She has a beautiful mask on her face, as Anatolians do, and it looks like she is wearing mascara and eyeliner. While Callie loves everyone, she can still be awkward while moving, and sometimes does not realize her size. Thus, she would probably do best in a home with older (not small) children. Callie would love to meet you!
