Hi – they call me Bubas.  I spent 4 months in a shelter.  They named me Bubas. I checked out of the vet with a clean bill of health, but they recommended some meds for fear and anxiety.  You see, I was found wandering the streets, so I have a very mysterious background – my little secret.  But I can tell you this:  I am scared of a lot of things, especially men and strangers.  Strange Men are the Worst.    I have latched on to Foster Mom and will not leave her side – I don’t growl at Foster Dad anymore, so that’s a bit of progress. I enjoy playing with other dogs and my toys.  I’m good with middle aged to older kids, but the little ones have as much energy as I do and they make me a bit nervous.  Besides, I’m big enough to knock them down when I’m just trying to play with them. I am slowly learning manners and commands and getting better with time.  I’m learning to walk on a harness and leash – regular collars make me alligator roll to get out of them.  I am house trained and crate trained. Here is my idea of the perfect home:  Great Dane Experience, female only household, my people to be home more than not, lots of patience and love, another big dog to pal around with and whom I can learn from,  interest in helping me to learn how to bring out the Awesomeness that is inside of me, and some more love.  Please fill out an application and ask for me.April 23, 2024, 3:04 pm

Story
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at https://rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications link can be found on the home page. Cowboy is a Great Dane mix.  Like other shelter pups, we have limited information.  We are unsure what Cowboy is mixed with but it is clear he is “100% pure bred cuteness”.  We know he has some Great Dane because the shelter said, “we love how goofy he is”.  Yep – that sounds like a baby Dane to us! Cowboy was brought to a shelter as a stray.  The shelter has described Cowboy as “very active, talkative, playful, friendly with visitors, lap dog”.  He likes to play gently and has played with other dogs at the shelter.   We anticipate Cowboy will need Great Dane 101 lessons on all fronts, meaning – house training; crate training; leash training, etc. proper introductions to animals and young people.  Cowboy sounds super curious and ready to learn all about becoming a big, goofy Dane – so if this isn’t your first “Dane Rodeo” – help us get Cowboy a home!  More about Cowboy: Neutered Male Housebroken unknown Not trusted to free roam Crate trained unknown Puppy – higher energy No Cats (Cats Unknown; prey drive unknown) Dogs Unknown (played with dogs at shelter) Children unknown Needs leash training; Needs all basic training Must be a Great Dane or Giant Breed experienced home due to age and training required. Adoption Applications link can be found on the home page. “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?” Hold on Juliet — We found your Romeo and this guy is a true heartbreaker! “My name is Romeo, and I am looking for the happiest ending to my love story:  finding my forever home.  I have settled right into my foster home with ease. I am a big, handsome boy with mild energy.  I enjoy my walks and want to go everywhere my people go. Car rides are the best, too.  I can be anxious in new situation but I adjust rather quickly and learn to go with the flow in no time.  I have grown up around children and do well with the kiddos.  My ideal home?  A home that gets what it is like to live with a Gentle Giant gentleman.  As I head into my golden years, I think a quieter home with another dog or two would be ideal.  I have done great with both mild mannered male and female dogs of different sizes.  I would love a home where my humans are home more often than away.  I was surrendered due to no fault of my own as my surrendering family was moving. I am accustomed to a soft couch, soft bed and kind humans around me.    My surrendering family described me “Incredibly loyal, will go with you till the ends of the earth…”  And listen to what Foster Mom has to say about me, “Romeo is the biggest honey you will ever meet.  He has been the easiest foster I have ever had.  He happily lets his foster dog-brother Panda, half his size at 85 lbs., take the lead.  His prize possession is his squeaky snake and squeaky ball.  He loves to play and go for car rides.  Romeo is a dream!” More about Romeo Neutered and Gastropexy Male (Gastropexy is an elective surgery that helps reduce bad out comes from a condition called bloat) Housebroken (Zero accidents in the home; Drinks a lot of water and urinates frequently) Not destructive of toys or home Mild energy – loves going for walks; great on leash or harness Trusted to free roam; likes having a small space that is his own when left alone. (Either kennel or smaller room) Good with respectful children all ages Good with all people No Cats (Has lived with cats and will chase cats) Good with male and female dogs, different sizes (mild mannered) A fenced yard would be ideal A home where people are home more than away A quieter home without a lot of loud noises True “Gentle Giant” https://rmgreatdane.org/romeo/April 23, 2024, 3:04 pm
