Meet Chevy   Status: Available Sex: Spayed Female – Gastropexied Color: Merle    Ears: Natural Age: 5 yrs  Weight: 108 lbs Great Dane Experience Required Adoption Fee – has been paid by a generous sponsor   Updated 1-26-2026 Meet Chevy — the sweetest girl with a tender heart, a playful soul, and a story shaped by resilience. At 5 years old, Chevy has made meaningful strides through professional training and is now searching for a calm, experienced family ready to continue her journey with patience and understanding. Personality Chevy is a sensitive, soulful Great Dane with a gentle heart and a playful, goofy side that shines once she feels safe. Her story is one of resilience, growth, and quiet bravery – and she’s looking for a calm, patient home that will continue supporting her journey. Chevy thrives on routine and structure. New people, sudden movements, loud noises, and unfamiliar environments can feel overwhelming at first, and she needs time and thoughtful introductions to build trust. But once that trust is earned, Chevy transforms into an affectionate Velcro Dane who adores snuggles, belly rubs, couch time, and following her people from room to room. She’s curious, endearing, and not shy about nudging a hand when she wants affection. At home with her trusted people, Chevy is a total goofball – rolling in the grass, doing joyful zoomies, chewing on her favorite toys, and proudly flopping onto her back for attention. She sleeps in bed, loves treats, and finds comfort in predictable daily routines. Training & Progress Chevy is house trained, crate trained, and knows her basics including sit, down, come, stay, and off. She walks well on leash but may pull when excited. She is intelligent, food-motivated, and eager to learn, especially in calm, structured environments where expectations are clear. Fear and anxiety are Chevy’s biggest challenges, particularly around unfamiliar people and dogs. With professional training support, she has shown encouraging progress – remaining calm and neutral in controlled social settings and gaining confidence at her own pace. Continued positive-reinforcement training, management, and consistency will be essential for her success. Ideal Home Other Pets & Children Chevy will do best as the only pet in the home. While she has shown improvement and occasional positive interactions with other dogs in structured training environments, she is not comfortable with dogs approaching her and struggles in neighborhood settings. She needs an adults-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens. Young children and unpredictable movement are not a good fit for her. Ideal Home Chevy is looking for:• A quiet, predictable home• A fenced yard or safe outdoor space for zoomies• No other pets• Adults only or older, dog-savvy teens• Experience with fearful or reactive dogs (or willingness to learn)• Patience, structure, compassion, and consistency She can experience separation anxiety but is learning to settle and does best when departures are part of a consistent routine. When left alone, she is generally calm, resting or entertaining herself with toys. A Few More Things to Love • Loves car rides and hops right in• Non-destructive in the home• Sleeps in bed and loves to snuggle• Very polite with food and waits for permission &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Why Chevy Chevy isn’t a “plug-and-play” dog – but for the right home, she is deeply rewarding. She forms strong emotional bonds and gives her whole heart to the people who make her feel safe. Watching her confidence grow – through brave moments, playful zoomies, and quiet cuddles – is incredibly special. &#226&#156&#168 Thanks to a generous sponsor, Chevy’s adoption fee has been fully covered so she can land in the perfect home—where the focus is on the right match! If you’re ready to offer a calm, committed home and help a sensitive Great Dane continue to blossom, Chevy may be the dog you’ve been waiting for. More about Chevy: Great Dane Experience Required Housetrained: Yes  Crate trained: Yes Needs a calm home – dog savvy adults and teens only No dogs  No cats  Professional training in process Fearful and anxious around new people – needs slow introductions January 26, 2026, 6:37 pm

Story
Ajax is a handsome four year old blue merle Great Dane with a friendly, curious, and eager to please disposition. He was transferred to rescue after finding himself in a midwestern municipal shelter. Ajax arrived underweight, having been neglected by his prior owner, but is doing well in foster care. He is a bit of a "velcro dog," as Danes are apt to be, and would love the devotion of his very own family. Ajax enjoys going anywhere where there is attention to be given to him, and appears to do well with humans and dogs of all sizes, though he can get very excited during play, which will not work for every kind of friend. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, wormed, on heartworm prevention; we do not believe he has had a gastropexy. Ajax's adoption fee is $350.

Meet Duke! Duke is a new rescue to Ace of Hearts and we are still learning more about him! What we do know is that he is very timid right now and still learning to trust his people... however, like your typical dane he has been nothing but gentle and friendly for this entire process.

Story
Hello world! My name is Loki, and I’m so glad you clicked on my profile. I’m a 130-pound Great Dane with an even bigger heart, and I can’t wait to find my forever home!A few things you should know about me: I can be a little nervous when meeting new people. My first meet-and-greet may involve some cautious sniffs while I get comfortable. I’m currently working with my foster parents and a trainer to build my confidence and learn better ways to communicate when I’m unsure. Like many sensitive dogs, I’ve occasionally used quick warning snaps when I feel overwhelmed or confused. Because of this, I need a home that understands canine body language, respects my boundaries, and is committed to continuing my training so I feel safe and supported. I have a high prey drive when wearing a flat collar (those squirrels really test me!), but when I’m on a prong collar, I’m a total gentleman and can calmly pass squirrels and bunnies.Once I know you, I am the sweetest, cuddliest, and most loyal companion you could ask for. I love hugs, kisses, and being close to my people—expect lots of affection! Ultimately, I’m looking for a patient, dog-savvy adopter—ideally with large-breed experience—who understands what they’re signing up for and is excited to work with me so I can be the best pup I can be. In return, I’ll give you unwavering loyalty, love, and a whole lot of Dane-sized snuggles.  ##2565971##

Story
Meet Kobi, a truly handsome Great Dane with a big body and an even bigger heart. Kobi is a gentle, sweet boy who loves being around his people and showing off his classic Dane charm. Because of his impressive size, Kobi would do best in a home with older kids who can comfortably handle a large dog. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who turns heads wherever he goes, Kobi might be your perfect match! What I Need In a Home:* Older children recommended
