Story
Han Solo is a 1 year old, 10 pound Chihuahua who joined us recently from when his owner could no longer care for him. He can be a little bit nervous at first, but he warms up quickly and seeks attention. He is a very calm dog, who really wants to be a cuddle bug. He knows basic commands, such as ""sit,"" and he has excellent leash manners. He has lived with other dogs, and needs to be introduced slowly. This little guy has been through a lot of change lately, but he's ready to take the next steps to find his forever home, and that starts with you meeting him! He is residing at our adoption center and would be delighted to see you, anytime during regular adoption center hours. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Meet Buddy Holly- He would love to sing his way into your heart. Buddy was returned to us recently when his owner had medical issues and could no longer care for him. He's about 7-1/2 years old and about 10-12 pounds. This silly little monkey seems to love everyone he meets. He loves to go on walks (and bark at other dogs he sees) as well as snuggle up with you. His former owner did let us know he will chase kitties, so he'll do best in a feline-free home and kids over age 14. He'll be best as your only canine companion. He is currently residing with one of our amazing foster homes, and will be at the adoption center on Saturdays, until adopted. You are welcome to submit an inquiry for more information about this animal, but please note that we strongly encourage potential adopters to come and see us in person and speak with an adoption counselor. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. We do ask for 24 hours time to respond to an inquiry (48 hours on weekends) and often a dog or cat is adopted before you get a response back. If this dog was not good with other dogs, cats or has a restriction with kids, we will note them in the bio. Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. An inquiry on a dog or cat does not automatically put that dog or cat on hold for anyone. Deposits can be placed on all available dogs or cats after the family has met the dog or cat and we all feel the match is a good match. If there’s more than one family interested in a dog when that dog becomes available, we will hold a lottery with all families that are a good match. Story
Apple is a 14 week old darling little Chihuahua who joined us recently as a stray with her little sister. As you would suspect, she is a full of energy and curiosity, puppy who enjoys playing with other dogs. She is very social and likes to be near her humans. She is in the typical puppy chewing stage and will gladly chew on her toys, but might also mistake something unintentionally left around as ""her toy,"" as well. She is trained to sleep in her kennel, and is very adorable when she begins to get sleepy. She is currently residing in one of our amazing foster homes. To schedule an appointment to meet her, please email Debbie@AzFriends.orgNo appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open.
