Story
Meet Mighty Mouse!Mighty Mouse is another pup that's going to need a very special someone that understands how particular, bossy, and sassy chihuahuas can be. Mighty Mouse is about two years old, absolutely gorgeous (as you can see) and also very, very deaf. VERY deaf. This means he can't really hear himself bark so he tends to bark loudly and incessantly when he gets riled up so shared walls/apartment complexes may not be the best environment for this shouty little man. He's a little under 14lbs but what he lacks in size he makes up for with an attitude the size of Texas. He takes a bit to warm up to people but once he does, he definitely plays favorites. He does well with other dogs but not with cats. He's sweet with people (once he likes you) and loves going for walks. He also loves his treats/snacks and likes to bury them and then forget they exist. With the right amount of sweet talking, Mighty Mouse will be your best friend...but you need to be willing to GO SLOW with him. He isn't the kind of dog that you can just swoop down and scoop up right away because he can and will throw hands while screaming vulgarities (probably). If you've had a difficult dog in the past and are used to the attitude and the judgmental side eye, Mighty Mouse might be the guy for you. We're looking for an adult only home (older teenagers should be fine as well) that has the patience and the drive to put in the effort with him...because he is incredible once you melt that icy Fight Club exterior.

Story
Meet Salsa! He's a real life scruffy bobble head 💜Salsa is about four years old and he weighs just under 18lbs. He's roughly as long as he is tall so we're pretty confident that he's a chihuahua/dachshund mix. Salsa is a social butterfly that will meet you once and then decide that you're best friends for life. He THRIVES on attention and will actively seek it out through any means necessary. If you sit on the floor next to him, that's obviously an open invitation for him to jump all over you and parkour into/out of your lap. He's all tail wags all the time, gives you the best puppy dog eyes around, and really seems like he will ultimately be a lap dog. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that he doesn't have boundaries...because he does. He is not a fan of suddenly being grabbed/picked up. If he sees you coming and has plenty of warning, he's fine. If you take him by surprise, he gets grumbly...which, fair, if a giant claw machine lifted you up into the sky, you would probably complain too. He's good on a leash in the sense that he doesn't pull much, if at all, because he pretty much can't. He's less than 20lbs. There's not much muscle to put behind the pulling. He's respectfully wary of cats but would coexist with them peacefully. He does well with other dogs and can interact with them without much fanfare, just a sniff hello and then move on. Due to the fact that he doesn't like sudden movements/being caught off guard, we would prefer kids 12+.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application.
