Story
Meet Mighty Mouse!Mighty Mouse is another pup that's going to need a very special someone that understands how particular, bossy, and sassy chihuahuas can be. Mighty Mouse is about two years old, absolutely gorgeous (as you can see) and also very, very deaf. VERY deaf. This means he can't really hear himself bark so he tends to bark loudly and incessantly when he gets riled up so shared walls/apartment complexes may not be the best environment for this shouty little man. He's a little under 14lbs but what he lacks in size he makes up for with an attitude the size of Texas. He takes a bit to warm up to people but once he does, he definitely plays favorites. He does well with other dogs but not with cats. He's sweet with people (once he likes you) and loves going for walks. He also loves his treats/snacks and likes to bury them and then forget they exist. With the right amount of sweet talking, Mighty Mouse will be your best friend...but you need to be willing to GO SLOW with him. He isn't the kind of dog that you can just swoop down and scoop up right away because he can and will throw hands while screaming vulgarities (probably). If you've had a difficult dog in the past and are used to the attitude and the judgmental side eye, Mighty Mouse might be the guy for you. We're looking for an adult only home (older teenagers should be fine as well) that has the patience and the drive to put in the effort with him...because he is incredible once you melt that icy Fight Club exterior.

Story
Meet Mickey & Missy!A tiny terrier duo looking for their forever home together! Mickey and Missy are both seven year old terrier/chihuahua mixes. Mickey, the silver fox, is about 11.5lbs while Missy, the beautiful blonde, is about 8.5lbs.If you're looking for two little sprigs of sentient dandelion fluff to bop and frolic around your house, these two are IT for you. Both are nervous nellies at first which is understandable because this is a brand new environment and there is A LOT going on here. If you were only 9lbs and random hairless giants kept picking you up, you'd probably be terrified of life too. Once they have time to settle (which, honestly, takes barely any time at all), they are all about being in your lap and wanting attention. Mickey is SLIGHTLY more outgoing than Missy...but not by much.Neither of them have much interest in toys at the moment, though that could always change once they're settled in their new home. Right now, they prefer just paling around with each other and with people. They're both pretty good on a leash, mainly because they're small and can't take you for a ride if they see something interesting. They're mild-mannered, low-energy, scruffy gremlins but are still definitely capable of the occasional zoom. would do best in a quiet home without a ton of comings and goings. Other dogs are fine (though Mickey can be sassy in the sense that if another dog gives him attitude, he'll give it right back) and cats are fine as well. Older kids (12+) would be best. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.

Story
Say hello to dear little Rizzo, a one-year-old Chihuahua with the cutest face and the most expressive eyes. This adorable boy is looking for a fresh start after being surrendered through no fault of his own. Sadly, life in his previous home was stressful, as a child in the household was unkind to him. Because of that experience, Rizzo is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Now settling into a caring foster home, Rizzo is showing everyone just how special he is. He is a bit cautious when first approached and may give a small growl as he figures you out. For those familiar with Chihuahua behavior, this isn’t unusual, but in Rizzo’s case, it could be related to fear and insecurity from his past. With patience, gentle handling, and understanding, he warms up and reveals his sweet, affectionate nature.Once he feels comfortable, Rizzo absolutely loves to be carried around and close to his person. He bonds deeply and enjoys being your little shadow. He gets along great with his canine foster sibling. Check out this play session: https://youtube.com/shorts/3mKxxnsS8NIHe’s not a big barker, sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, and is doing well with housetraining. Even better, he’s very treat-motivated — a wonderful asset for continued positive training and confidence-building as you can see here: https://youtube.com/shorts/WgZAsfKgYyY?feature=shareRizzo will thrive in a calm, patient home — ideally with adults or older, respectful children — where his trust can continue to grow. In the right home, this darling boy will blossom into the loyal, loving companion he was always meant to be.Let’s find Rizzo the safe, understanding forever home he truly deserves.Name: Rizzo Breed: ChihuahuaSex: MaleAge: 1 year  (estimated)Weight: 11.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12, and respectful toward dogs.Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  Location of dog currently:   MAIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Pixie & Tobias are a bonded pair of 5 year old 5 lb Chihuahua mixes. They are not beginner dogs and they are not looking for a typical pet home. These two are deeply bonded and must stay together. They are not comfortable with men and cannot live with children. A calm adult female only home is required. They are a known flight risk and will only be placed in a home with a secure, physically fenced yard. No exceptions. Doors, gates, and leashes must be handled carefully at all times. They are also a bite risk. They will bite if pushed past their comfort level or handled incorrectly. They need an experienced, confident adopter who understands small dog behavior, respects boundaries, and is committed to management over fixing. This placement is about safety and stability, not turning them into lap dogs. Please only apply if your application clearly states that you meet all of these criteria. If you are looking for easy, social, or kid friendly dogs, these are not them.January 20, 2026, 8:33 pm
