Story
He is loyal, clingy and like we like to call him (a fatty) we got to control his food (not extra feed him) because he finishes his food in a sitting. He is very overprotective of the family, barks at any noise he hears from outsiders but has never tried to bite anyone. Just plays tough. He is also very clingy to other dogs. They get annoyed by him.

Story
Miguel is a charming two-year-old Chihuahua with a big personality packed into his tiny eight-pound frame. This little guy is playful, affectionate, and happiest when he’s spending time with his people or romping around the backyard. Miguel loves to run, wrestle with his dog friends, and entertain himself with toys, making him a fun and engaging companion. When playtime is over, he’s more than happy to curl up and cuddle with his human—his sweet, loving side truly shines once he feels comfortable. Miguel forms a strong bond with his person and truly loves his human. Because of this, he doesn’t necessarily want to share all of that attention and so would do best as the only dog in the home and in a household without young children. While he enjoys playing with other dogs and does well during social interactions, regular doggy playdates would be a wonderful way for him to enjoy canine companionship without feeling overwhelmed. Miguel is crate trained and almost fully potty trained, continuing to improve with consistency. He can be vocal when he hears noises or unfamiliar people, so a quieter home environment would be ideal—apartment living would not be the best fit for him. He is looking for a home with a fenced in yard and ideally as the only dog. Miguel is ready to find a forever family who will appreciate both his playful spirit and his deeply loyal, snuggly side. Miguel is currently being fostered in Rhode Island and is available for adoption throughout Northeastern states. *All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*

Story
These two adorable, well-mannered ladies never imagined they’d be starting over… but after the heartbreaking loss of their owner, they now find themselves searching for a soft place to land for their golden years. They’re currently safe and resting comfortably with our friends at Saving Paws Rescue in Mississippi, and when we heard their story, we knew we had to help them find the loving homes they deserve.✨ What we know so far:Senior gals with gentle, easygoing personalitiesLow-key and happy to just relax by your sideLiving peacefully with multiple dogs – no issues at allCats don’t seem to bother them eitherSweet, calm, and just looking for comfort and kindnessWhile they’ve lived together, they do not appear strongly bonded, so we are open to placing them separately. That said… we would absolutely love to see them stay together and are even offering a special “two-for-one” adoption for someone willing to open their heart and home to both. 💕There is truly something special about senior dogs. They don’t ask for much—just a cozy spot, a gentle touch, and someone to love. In return, they bring a quiet kind of joy, gratitude, and companionship that’s hard to put into words. If you’ve ever thought about giving a senior dog a chance… these girls might just be the ones to show you how meaningful that decision can be. ❤️Name: Malachi & OzoBreed: Chihuahua/Crossbreed   (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: FemaleAge: 10 years  (estimated)Weight: 10.Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500 (for both dogs)  (includes transport fee of $150 per dog )                       Location of dog currently:    MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Ms. Story and Mr. Caspian, two precious Chihuahuas whose hearts are as closely connected as their lives have always been. This devoted little pair came from a breeder/hoarding situation where they lived alongside many other dogs. Through it all, Story and Caspian had each other, and over time they formed a deep bond, relying on one another for comfort, reassurance, and confidence. Because of that special connection, they are looking for a forever home where they can continue their journey side by side.Due to their unsocialized past, they can be a bit shy when meeting new people. But once they begin to feel safe and secure, their gentle & loving personalities start to shine through. In their foster home, they are learning to live in a loving household. Their foster family is working with them to help them build trust and discover that people can be kind, patient, and caring. Story & Caspian will thrive in a quiet patient home that understands they need time and patience to fully blossom. A calm environment and a consistent routine is needed for them to feel their best. But for someone willing to offer them kindness, consistency, and a peaceful environment, the reward will be incredible. Witnessing dogs transform into confident and happy pups is truly an amazing experience.Open your heart to this couple, and you won’t just be adopting two little dogs—you’ll be welcoming two deeply devoted companions who will bring quiet love and loyalty into your life.Name: Story Breed: Chihuahua  Sex: Female Age: 6 years  (estimated) Weight: 12.0 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Vaccinations: Up to date Heartworm: Negative on recent testing. Story
Badger Segura is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    What do you get when you mix heelers, chihuahuas, dachshunds, and a little mystery? The absolutely adorable B Litter! Bamboo, Baron, Badger, Baylor, are ready to wiggle their way into forever homes. At about 3 months old, these pups are packed with personality, puppy antics, and enough charm to make you temporarily forget about the piranha teeth, middle of the night potty trips, and complete lack of house training. We expect them to grow into the 30 to 40 pound range, but with this mixed bag of cuteness, your guess is as good as ours. These babies are looking for families ready for all things puppy including training, socialization, structure, patience, and plenty of fun. If you’re ready for a lifetime of laughs, love, and a little chaos, one of the B pups may be your perfect match. ***due to clinic delays this pup will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100.00 spay/neuter voucher  deposit *** If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Meet Loon! Loon is a sweet, shy little thing who deserves to be treasured, loved, and spoiled. Loon warms up to new people well but she will likely need a bit of decompression time when she goes home as she adjusts and learns to feel like part of the family. She would likely do best with dog savvy kids. She has no experience with cats and, though she did grow up with a littermate, she has not met too many new dogs in her life. We would be happy to introduce Loon to any resident dogs in the home to see if it's the right fit for her. Loon will be spayed next Tuesday 6/2, she is available for meet and greets and to be reserved for adoption on 6/3 or 6/4 **if you are interested in adopting, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours (Wednesday-Sunday, 12-4)**
