Story
Miguel is a charming two-year-old Chihuahua with a big personality packed into his tiny eight-pound frame. This little guy is playful, affectionate, and happiest when he’s spending time with his people or romping around the backyard. Miguel loves to run, wrestle with his dog friends, and entertain himself with toys, making him a fun and engaging companion. When playtime is over, he’s more than happy to curl up and cuddle with his human—his sweet, loving side truly shines once he feels comfortable. Miguel forms a strong bond with his person and truly loves his human. Because of this, he doesn’t necessarily want to share all of that attention and so would do best as the only dog in the home and in a household without young children. While he enjoys playing with other dogs and does well during social interactions, regular doggy playdates would be a wonderful way for him to enjoy canine companionship without feeling overwhelmed. Miguel is crate trained and almost fully potty trained, continuing to improve with consistency. He can be vocal when he hears noises or unfamiliar people, so a quieter home environment would be ideal—apartment living would not be the best fit for him. He is looking for a home with a fenced in yard and ideally as the only dog. Miguel is ready to find a forever family who will appreciate both his playful spirit and his deeply loyal, snuggly side. Miguel is currently being fostered in Rhode Island and is available for adoption throughout Northeastern states. *All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*

Story
Looking for a tiny dog with a larger-than-life personality? Meet LadyBug!This pint-sized potato is built more like a loaded baked potato than a marathon runner, and she’s perfectly okay with that. Her favorite hobbies include supervising the house, collecting belly rubs, perfecting the art of snuggling, and convincing you that she definitely hasn’t been fed… even if she ate five minutes ago.LadyBug loves her people, gets along great with dogs of all sizes, and somehow has the confidence of a Great Dane packed into one delightfully chunky Chihuahua body. She’s sweet, affectionate, easygoing, and always ready to curl up next to you—preferably under a blanket. She’s not just adorable—she’s smart, too! LadyBug knows “sit” and “down,” responds to her name, and is always happy to accept praise (or treats… especially treats). If you’ve been searching for a tiny, lovable sidekick with a round belly, a huge heart, and enough personality to fill the whole house, LadyBug is your girl!.Lady Bug arrives in New England on 6/27 and is scheduled for bilateral patella surgery on 7/6. Her Fosrer will get her on the way being recovered and she will be ready to head to her forever home.Name: Lady BugBreed: Chihuahua/Crossbreed (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: FemaleAge: 3 years (estimated)Weight: 18.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00 $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently: Cape Cod MassIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England. Story
These two adorable, well-mannered ladies never imagined they’d be starting over… but after the heartbreaking loss of their owner, they now find themselves searching for a soft place to land for their golden years. They’re currently safe and resting comfortably with our friends at Saving Paws Rescue in Mississippi, and when we heard their story, we knew we had to help them find the loving homes they deserve.✨ What we know so far:Senior gals with gentle, easygoing personalitiesLow-key and happy to just relax by your sideLiving peacefully with multiple dogs – no issues at allCats don’t seem to bother them eitherSweet, calm, and just looking for comfort and kindnessWhile they’ve lived together, they do not appear strongly bonded, so we are open to placing them separately. That said… we would absolutely love to see them stay together and are even offering a special “two-for-one” adoption for someone willing to open their heart and home to both. 💕There is truly something special about senior dogs. They don’t ask for much—just a cozy spot, a gentle touch, and someone to love. In return, they bring a quiet kind of joy, gratitude, and companionship that’s hard to put into words. If you’ve ever thought about giving a senior dog a chance… these girls might just be the ones to show you how meaningful that decision can be. ❤️Name: Malachi & OzoBreed: Chihuahua/Crossbreed   (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: FemaleAge: 10 years  (estimated)Weight: 10.Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500 (for both dogs)  (includes transport fee of $150 per dog )                       Location of dog currently:    MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
