Story
Norman1.5 y neutered male 24 lbShepahuahua Norman's story begins with a FREE PUPPIES sign on the back of a truck at a swap meet in Hanford, CA. A good Samaritan scooped him up, put him on a transport, and transferred him into foster at Wiggly Tails. Norman was adopted at the age of 4 months by a kind woman who he loved very much. They became very bonded to each other and lived happily together. A year later, however, she died suddenly and Norman found himself all alone in their apartment. His original foster came to get the terrified dog and bring him home. There, he was able to decompress and recover from his loss. As Norman lived with only one person, he wasn't well socialized as a puppy. He can get quite nervous with new people. Once he knows you however, he will be your bestest friend for life. He will want to sleep with you, snuggle with you, and be carried like a toddler. He is a true velcro baby. Due to Norman's need for slow introductions, we are willing to allow him to be fostered for a short time to settle in before an adoption decision has to be made. We would supply you with his personal items, and you'd let us know how it was coming along - just like he would be in his current foster home. We're confident he'll come around and do well if someone is just willing to be patient and give him a chance. (His foster home just absolutely adores him and he's very affectionate with them.) Norman is crate trained and has not had any accidents in the house. He is still pretty nervous on leash, but he rides in the car well. He loves other dogs and is respectful of cats. Small children are not recommended as they can be scary. A fenced backyard is a must for Norman. To further inquire about NORMAN, submit an application. ADOPTION APP: https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how NORMAN will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet. Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit. We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid foster-to-adopt agreement for NORMAN, as well as her future family. *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, OR ADOPTION APP: https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application ##2299176##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Ragatha aka Agatha 4 years, spayed female, 18 lbs Chihuahua mix LIKES: Being the center of attention, receiving pets and cuddles (is very interested in sleeping under the covers with you), napping in your lap, taking long walks with plenty of stops for sniffing, chasing after toys, running on the beach, chewing on rawhides or similar, sharing face kisses. DISLIKES: Feeling left out, being “abandoned”, car rides, and getting wet. PERSONALITY TRAITS: The best of Ragatha’s wonderful personality will shine through when she is in the presence of her caregiver, at home, and not surrounded by unfamiliar people or pets. At her foster home she is consistently silly, spunky, sweet, affectionate, and loyal. She is also very perceptive and eager to please, potentially lending well to positive-reinforcement training—she has learned “sit”—but she will sometimes become too excited to register commands. Ragatha can acclimate to new people but needs slow introductions when people enter her home, and could use continued training and socialization outside of the home in situations with people. POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Ragatha is perfectly potty trained when you are around. If she is left alone, she becomes anxious and will have accidents. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Ragatha may sometimes voluntarily enter her crate when seeking a safe space, and she can also easily be picked up and placed inside her crate, but she doesn't like to be left in a crate. OTHER: Ragatha’s size to high-jumping ratio parallels that of a cat’s, so while she is generally well-behaved towards your property, beware of the possibility for her to get onto tables or other high surfaces! Her compatibility cohabitating with children, other pets, or multiple “equal value” caretakers is unknown. Ragatha may benefit from being in a home with another dog that can show her the ropes. Or be with someone who is home most of the time and work on short times of separation. Story
Jake 1 year old, neutered male, 11 lbs Chihuahua mix LIKES: Chasing flying bugs! As well as, cuddling, short walks, his toys, his owner (very loyal), and rolling in grass. Chasing the vacuum. DISLIKES: Being away from the people he loves and big dry dog food. People not dropping food on the floor for him. PERSONALITY TRAITS: "Hi! My name is Jake, I am a semi-energetic pup, and I LOVE TO CHASE FLYING BUGS! I can jump up on furniture, and go upstairs- but I CANNOT go down them - It is too scary! The kids in this house are energetic all day and loud, but I don't mind. I play with them just so they quit calling my name. I've learned to sleep though it. I can walk on a leash, and sometimes I like playing in the river water. I like to chase cats and squirrels and may forget that I need to stay near my human, I'm working on that." POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He still needs some reminders and guidance to go potty outside. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Does fine in Crate/Kennel after a little initial protesting. EXTRAS/MISC.: Jake is food motivated, very loyal, loving, and funny. He gets along with other dogs but he chases cats. Jake needs to be contained by a fence when he is outside or be on leash. He would benefit from training to help him become the best dog he can be. To further inquire about JAKE, submit an application. Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how JAKE will mesh with your lifestyle.
