Story
Fox
3 years, neutered male, 19 lbs
BREED: Terrier + Hound mix (with a little herding flair )
LIKES: Following his favorite human everywhere, food (very food-motivated!), walks, and belly rubs. Fox especially loves the company of women and enjoys calm, respectful dogs.
DISLIKES: Fox can be timid and cautious when meeting new people, particularly men. He will need a patient, understanding approach and time to build trust with new people.
PERSONALITY: Fox is a deeply sweet and special boy who bonds very closely to his person—he’s a true “shadow dog.” Wherever you go, he’ll want to be right there with you. He’s joined his foster mom on trail runs, walks around downtown, and even a birthday party, and has done wonderfully in all of those settings. He’s observant, sensitive, and very in tune with his environment.
POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Fox had a couple of accidents and some marking (leg lifting) when he first arrived in his foster home, but he’s now doing very well with routine and structure.
CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Fox will happily rest in a crate when his humans are nearby, but he does not do well being crated when left alone.
EXTRAS / IDEAL HOME: Fox does well with respectful dogs (he currently lives with four in his foster home!), but he can be a bit nervous when first meeting new dogs—especially if they come on strong or get in his space too quickly. He communicates appropriately and does best with calm, well-mannered dogs who respect boundaries.
He thrives in a home where someone is around often, as he forms strong bonds and loves companionship. Fox will do best with an adopter who can offer consistency, patience, and reassurance as he continues to build confidence—especially when adjusting to new people or time alone. He has shown some separation anxiety, so continued support and a thoughtful approach to alone-time will be important. Fox will be an incredibly loyal, loving companion to the right person—he just needs someone willing to go at his pace and earn his trust.

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how FOX will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.
Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.
We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for FOX, as well as his future family.
