Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! I'm Jockey, a sweet and small Mini Poodle weighing in at just 8 pounds. I'm 4 years old and ready to find my forever home. When I first arrived, I was pretty scared, but I've been working hard to overcome my fears and now my true personality is starting to shine through. I've really made a lot of progress and am very comfortable in my foster home. I used to hide when someone tried to pick me up, but now that I have gotten to know my foster mom, I lay down calmly  ready for some love. I enjoy spending time in the yard, especially when the neighbors walk by with their dogs. I love sniffing and checking out all the pups and people from the safety of my fence. To help me live my best life, I do need a canine companion in my new home. I have a few adorable quirks that will make you smile. I do a little dance when it's mealtime, and if you're not paying attention to me during treat time, I'll pat your leg to make sure you see me. I'm quite the foodie and love treats and chew bones. Just a heads-up, I prefer to keep my chewies to myself! I am a foodie at heart - foster mom says I can be bribed with a treat anytime, anyplace - hee hee! Toys are also my favorite - I have become a little toy hoarder and my people find my little stashes all over the house. I'm just saving them to play with later! I also love playing with the other dogs in my foster home - we LOVE playing zoomies and take turns chasing each other.  I'm still working on overcoming some fears, like loud noises, which can be a bit scary for me. But with patience and kindness, I'm getting better every day. I'm almost potty trained as long as I'm on a good schedule, and I'm also crate trained. We're working on leash training, but I do get alarmed so a fenced yard is required. I can get a bit vocal when you leave the house, but that's just because I love being around my people. It would be best if I didn't have shared walls.  If you're looking for a fantastic companion who will dance into your heart, look no further! With a little patience and kindness, I'll be your loyal and loving friend. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Zoe is an energetic 6 year-old shitzu-poodle mix who loves to play, cuddle, and hide her ball. She has a silly/goofy personality that will always make you smile (tongue included). She can be very vocal (we've been working on it). She gets so excited to see other people and dogs that she just can't hold it in! Zoe LOVES people and wants all the affection she can get! She enjoys pets, belly rubs, and scratches. She will lie on her back for hours getting belly rubs if you let her! She can be the only dog, however, she would love to be in a home with at least one other dog. She loves to play with other dogs, but she hasn't had much opportunity too and a dog she could learn from. She doesn't do well with small children because she is a jumping bean, but older children should be ok. Zoe has potty training struggles. She would do well with a fully-fenced yard, but LOVES her walks. She is still working to not have accidents in the house and does use pee pads. Zoe has never been in a kennel. When she is left alone and with my resident dog they are gated in the kitchen with a dog bed with the TV on and pee pads. This has been the most successful way to leave her. She will do well with someone who is home a lot. She eats and drinks very well. She is definitely food and treat motivated! She does ok in the car for quick car rides anything over 30 mins is too much. I use a dog seatbelt that’s connected to the seatbelt in the back seat and the other end to the back of her harness. She does ok on a leash. She just pulls because she wants to walk much faster than me. Zoe is a little princess who wants all the love and attention she can get. With the right family that will give her the time and patience she requires, she will be an excellent addition to anyone's family.

Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Story
Hi! I'm Pudgie, and I am a Lhasa Apso/Havanese mix born approx 12/7/24. My foster mom says I'm a 10 on the cuteness scale. I like to go for walks around my yard & do pretty well on my leash. I will sniff everything I  can. I love being outside with my people. I get along & play well with the cat here too. I had a visit from my foster mom's granddaughters (4 & 7), and I just loved them! When people do visit, I am a bit nervous. I will bark & sniff & run back, but do eventually settle down. Men are just a bit scarier to me. I will warm up though if you give me time. When I play, I will get the zooming & chase my curly tail running in circles! I like to pick up odd things, like paper or a milk carton, to play with. My toys are ok but I'd rather have something odd. I'm not a chewer though. I do well potty training on a schedule but still have a few accidents, but that's getting better. I'm not a big fan of the kennel when my foster family leaves for a bit but will eventually settle in. I would much rather go with you! I love car rides! Once I pick my person, I will follow you everywhere. I am such a sweet little guy & love my treats, snuggles & naps. I like being brushed too. I'm not super high energy, I play for a bit & then I'm happy just chilly & napping.      Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $750.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 18, 2025, 4:26 pm

Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Is anyone looking for a snuggler? Because I am looking for someone to snuggle with! My name is Miss Ruby and I am 11 lbs of sassafras you will not be able to resist! I know I’m technically a senior at 7 years old, but I still have a lot of energy to PLAY! Squeaky toys are my favorite.  And then when it’s time to settle down, I really like to be next to you…. right in your bed if possible. Please? I like both men and women the same. And I like kids too! You know why? Because they have toys and snackies and I like both of those things! But I might try to take them, so I think kids older than 10 might be best for me. I am working on my potty training. My foster mom has me on a schedule to go outside and as long as this is maintained, I have no accidents. Yay for me! I mostly go outside and when I can’t make it, I use a potty pad. Sometimes I get distracted with all the snuggling available and I forget! If I’m kenneled, I will protest at first (who really wants to be in there anyway?) but I can keep my kennel accident-free. Here is other information about Miss Ruby: Other Dogs:  Ruby currently lives with other dogs her own size and they all know she is the boss babe of the pack. She has not been exposed to larger dogs, but my guess is she could hold her own. Prey Drive:  Note that while Ruby has not been cat tested, she does relish chasing all small critters. So, I feel like it’s safe to say we request she go to a home with no resident cats or other small pets. Barking:  Ruby is not overly vocal and has learned to use her voice appropriately when she wants something (i.e., to come inside). She also barks when she feels playful. Leash Manners:  Going for walkies is something Ruby could use more of. She’s not used to a leash and could use more practice. Ruby is an adorable and loving pup who is sure to get snapped up quickly. Don’t miss out on meeting this precious girl! Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  ##2376703##
