Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Prepare to be charmed by Chardonnay, a pint-sized wonder with striking blue eyes and a heart full of love! This adorable mini-maven is a master of maneuverability, famously able to  squeeze under baby gates  – a skill that constantly amazes her foster parents! Chardonnay is seeking a patient and understanding family who will give her the time she needs to comfortably adjust to her new home. She's a good girl who settles into her kennel each night for sleep and during the day while her fosters are at work. Potty training is a breeze with this smart cookie – she goes right away when let out and after every meal. Her day wouldn't be complete without a special chew toy or bone when her fosters return, providing hours of delightful play until bedtime. Once Chardonnay feels safe and loved, she promises to be your devoted companion, sticking to you "like glue!" She absolutely adores chewing on bones, chasing tennis balls, and making all her squeaky toys sing! Her playful spirit shines when she "play bows" and zips around with her canine friends. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a tiny gal with a big personality and those captivating blue eyes, Chardonnay might just be the perfect addition to your family! Chardonnay  is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This beautiful girl is Sangria. She came with 12 other Pomimos (American Eskimo/Pomeranian mixes), 2 adults, and 10 puppies. They all took their freedom rides from a local impound and joined Ruff Start Rescue!   This mom and the others came from a tough past where breeding spiraled out of control. The puppies had been nursing from two moms, Sangria and Chardonnay, and no one knew exactly who belonged with whom. To keep everyone safe and together, a foster welcomed both mamas and all the pups, so no one was left behind.    Sangria is a high-energy little gal who loves attention and being as close to you as possible. She is currently not a fan of being left a lot and will anxiously chew on items if not provided with chew toys. She is working on her stranger danger but loves to use her voice to let you know she sees you.   Sangria does great on her harness and leash. She has some hops and will jump up into my arms when she can. She is a nervous chewer but with a toy, or human she stays busy. Sangria is a very slow eater and would prefer pets over food anyday.   Sangria is looking for a home where she can get lots of attention and a family willing to help her find some confidence.  Sangria is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an   adoption application.   An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Introducing PomPoms — The Fluffy Prince of Sass and Sunshine! Looking for a dog with the confidence of a lion, the fluff of a cloud, and the charm of a seasoned heart-stealer? Meet PomPoms, a pint-sized Pomeranian with a personality that is anything but small. PomPoms is the total Pomeranian package: he’s bold, opinionated, and totally devoted once he’s decided you’re his person. He loves to go on adventures — whether that means hopping in the car for a joyride or trotting around the neighborhood like he owns it (spoiler alert: he thinks he does). He thrives on attention, makes friends easily with both humans and other dogs, and has a surprising amount of pep packed into his tiny frame. He’s also a top-tier napper and can often be found sunbathing like a celebrity on vacation. But don’t let that cute little face fool you — PomPoms knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to express himself. He has very clear opinions about a few things in life: The Vet — hard no. If PomPoms has to go, he’ll need his foster mom there to hold his paw (and maybe whisper sweet nothings or offer cheese). He gets anxious and needs reassurance from someone he trusts. Clothes — double no. He is perfect in his natural state, thank you very much. Being Heard — absolutely. If something doesn’t meet PomPoms’ high standards, he’ll let you know with a side-eye or a solid bark of disapproval. PomPoms is not just a dog — he’s a presence. He’s the type of pup who forms a deep bond with his person, makes you laugh daily with his dramatic antics, and somehow turns the most mundane part of your day into something warm, funny, and sweet. He’d do well in a home that understands little dogs with big personalities — a family who’ll let him be the fabulous little weirdo he is, while also helping him feel safe when the world feels scary (like, say… during vet visits). He’s housetrained, loves companionship, and does best with people who respect his boundaries while still giving him structure and snuggles. In return, PomPoms promises to be your tiny shadow, your co-pilot on errands, your sunbathing buddy, and the ruler of your heart (and probably your couch). Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxMeet Clark! This spunky, sassy little Pomeranian–Chihuahua mix is equal parts cutie pie and bossy pants. Clark knows what he wants and isn’t shy about letting you know with his voice and body language. He takes time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he can be a sweet cuddle buddy—on his own terms, of course. Clark is housetrained and enjoys strutting proudly on leash.  He is an active little guy and will need daily walks.  Clark is GREAT in the car and loves going for rides whether it is for short errands or long trips!  He loves playing with squeaky toys too!Clark currently is being fostered in a home with several dogs and does just fine after introductions.  He can be a bit reactive (barky and bossy) when meeting new dogs but once introduced and comfortable, he will race and chase with them in the yard. Because of his strong personality, Clark is looking for an adult-only home with people who can set boundaries with him.    If you’re searching for a spirited sidekick with plenty of character, Clark just might be your match!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //
