Meet Roo, the 5 month old, 11.5 lb bundle of adorable puppy! He was listed as a "mixed breed" but we did a DNA test and the results are in! DNA test shows him 29% Basset Hound, 23% Chihuahua and 11% Shih Tzu top 3 breeds (adopter will get the DNA results report). He has typical puppy energy and play tendencies, as well as typically sharp puppy teeth. He's a very social and curious boy who enjoys meeting people, and is generous in showering them with kisses. He's doing really well with his house training, and even knows how to use a dog door, although he still uses puppy pads, some of the time. He's eager to learn, and is working on basic commands. He does know his name and will come when called. He enjoys the company of, and play time with other dogs. He is crate trained, and is working on his leash training. He's a very loving, affectionate boy, who looks forward to meeting his forever home! He'll be at our adoption center on Saturdays until adopted!To get started in the process for meeting Roo, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html, to complete an adoption consultation form (this step may also be completed at the Adoption Center), and then come by the Adoption Center to meet an Adoption Counselor.To get started in the process of meeting this dog, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Meet Buddy 🐾 Buddy is an 8-year-old Beagle who has been a deeply loved member of my family. True to his breed, he’s full of personality—so much so that it often feels like you can have full conversations with him. He’s affectionate, loyal, and absolutely loves to cuddle. Due to some unexpected hardships, I’m faced with the incredibly difficult decision to find Buddy a new home. This is truly heartbreaking, and I’m hoping to find someone who will love and care for him just as much as I do. Buddy is house-trained, gets along well with other dogs, and thrives on companionship. Like many dogs, he can get a little mischievous if left uncrated while you’re away—he may chew on items left within reach—but with the right environment and attention, he does wonderfully. If you or someone you know can provide Buddy with a safe, loving home, please reach out. He deserves nothing less than a family who will cherish him as much as he deserves.
