Rocket has been at the shelter for some time and would love to find his forever family soon. He's seeking an adult only home where he longs for the day he feels safe and loved, watching TV while chewing on his favorite Nylabone. Rocket has had a traumatic past; sadly losing trust in people. but never losing love for people. Rocket has a special staff member friend at Satchel's and is learning to trust and enjoy what life has to offer. He has a fear of "harsh corrections" and is scared of being "dragged" by his collar so can be apprehensive about anyone putting one on, but does walk very well on a leash. He is housebroken, crate trained, and very obedient, always wanting to learn new tricks and skills. Waterplay is Rocket's favorite outdoor activity, always being ready to play in the sprinkler. He loves to run in the backyard and enjoys playing with Frisbees, tennis balls, or his giant ball he can push around. Always followed by a cool down in the kiddie pool. If you have a calm home where Rocket will feel no threats, please consider adopting this 8-year-old boy. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Trooper is a handsome 5-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound weighing about 50 pounds, with a playful personality and a heart full of sweetness. He’s potty trained, crate trained, heartworm negative, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Trooper absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around to play with. He’s a goofy, food-loving guy who gets excited for meals, playtime, and spending time with his people. Despite being a hound, he has shown very little interest in squirrels or rabbits running nearby. Trooper can be sensitive to unfamiliar noises and sudden sounds. Things like sliding glass doors, air conditioners turning on, or men’s voices outside can startle him, so he’ll need a calm, patient home where he can continue building confidence and feeling safe. Because of this, he would do best in a women-only home and is not recommended for homes with children. Duffy Girl is a deeply loving, goofy, loyal companion looking for a calm home with an experienced dog owner who can help her feel safe and secure. I adopted her over 5 years ago, and while she’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, house trained, and generally low maintenance, she carries trauma from her early life that has led to fear-based reactivity toward some people and dogs when startled or anxious. Most of the time, Duffy is cuddly, playful, and wonderfully well-behaved. She thrives with routine, patience, and someone who understands anxious dogs and can confidently manage her triggers. As our family prepares for a baby, we know she would do best in a different environment where her needs can come first. This is an incredibly difficult decision made purely out of love for her. We are hoping to find Duffy a compassionate, experienced home where she can continue to feel safe, loved, and understood, rather than face the stress and uncertainty of a shelter.

Born 8/7/2024, she was rescued from a high-risk shelter as a young puppy and has blossomed into a happy, social girl. She could be a beagle mix with some German Shepherd in her. She’s crate trained (no accidents!), walks nicely on leash, comes when called, and sits on command — currently working on “stay.” Kaylee loves to play with dogs twice her size, carry sticks proudly around the yard, and investigate all the interesting scents outside. After her adventures, she enjoys gentle pets on her head and face. Like many Beagle mixes, Kaylee is smart, affectionate, and loves to explore.
