Story
Shae, is a Treeing Walker Coonhound who appears to be around two years old, was found abandoned in Bartow County in August 2024. When we discovered Shae, she was severely malnourished—skin and bones, infested with fleas, ticks, and roundworms. After taking her to the vet, we learned Shae was only about five months old at the time. Over the past year and a half, we have diligently maintained Shae’s veterinary care, taught her basic commands, and successfully crate and house trained her. While Shae is a wonderful companion, her boundless energy has proven to be more than our family can manage. Shae truly needs a large, fenced yard to run freely, and consistent, vigorous exercise to curb her hunting instincts. The situation reached a tipping point last week when Shae, eager to go outside, accidentally knocked me down in her excitement. This was not the first time this happened and I am currently seven months pregnant with our second child.

Story
‘WINTER OLYMPICS’ THEMED MOMMA:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 43 lbs. & needs to gain more   Hi there, I’m Elana - momma to the Winter Olympics themed puppies.  My puppies and I came to Mostly Mutts, thanks to a kind person who helped all of us get here safely.  I’ve finished raising them in a wonderful foster home and now I’m excited to find a loving family of my own - one where I can enjoy lots of fun, activity and love furever!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I absolutely LOVE playing with the dogs in my foster home!  I am pretty energetic and may be a bit much for a dog who is not looking for an active doggie friend.  If you have a dog who is looking for a fur friend to have big play sessions with, let’s meet! / When I am in a chill mood, I pretty much ignore the kitties in my foster home, but – when I am in play mode, I do a good bit of play bowing and try to be mouthy with them – though I have never harmed them.  All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would do with other cats. / I like the kids I’ve met while with my foster family.  I’m super active and a jumpy, mouthy  player, so older children in my new home would be best while I learn good play manners with kids.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet and friendly girl who is pretty submissive.  I get really excited to meet new people because I think everyone might be my new best friend.  I’ve got a curious, free spirit and I love exploring the world around me - if it’s something I can sniff, pick up, or check out with my mouth or paws, I’m definitely interested!  New places can make me a little nervous at first, and when I get overwhelmed, I might try to run away, so I need someone who will help me feel safe and keep a close eye on me while I’m learning.  A yard with a privacy fence would be a great fit for me to play in and explore with you.  I’m still figuring out how to live in a home, so I don’t really have my manners down yet, but my foster is working with me.  I’ll need a patient person who knows a bit about dogs and training to guide me with kindness and consistency. If you’re willing to help me learn and grow, I promise to give you lots of love, gentle hugs, and loyal companionship in return.  My foster says I am ‘funny to watch and a joy to have around’ – I bet you will agree! / My energy level is 6-8, though I can be quite chill one moment and full-on energy the next – lol. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and have pretty good leash walking manners.  I’m working on the ‘down’ command in my foster home and would love to learn more.  Let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I whine a little when I first go in the kennel, but I settle down pretty quickly.  I’ve not needed to be crated at night recently and have spent the last couple of weeks sleeping in my foster’s room. / My potty habits are a work in progress.  I’ve made good strides and have started to pace and whine to signal that I need to go out.  I am still having a few accidents, so please be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play with my doggie friends and – when it is time for a game of tug of war, I may include my people in the fun, too!  Treat puzzle toys are very engaging for me, and I love peanut butter-filled Kong toys as well.  Stuffed toys are just the best and – a true cuddle bug, I love affection in the evening - especially hugs. / Most dogs enjoy Pumpkin puree, but I think it’s icky.  Otherwise, I wouldn’t be happy in a home that’s not patient and willing to train me and like all dogs, I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have a few lumps in my mammary glands which may be from nursing – this is being monitored and will be rechecked approx. mid-April – just ask about it.  I’m taking a medication called Trazadone to help adjust to home life.  I hope to wean off of it in my new home over time.   I am looking for a loving home with a family that will continue my training as I learn all the things that will help me be a great companion!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    April 5, 2026, 7:01 am

Story
Meet Sophia! 🐾 Sophia came a 70+ hound hoarding case with her puppies. She was underweight and giving all the nutrients she had to her pups. She is the best mama. Sophia is a bit shy upon meeting, but warms up very quickly with food and love! She has been thriving in her foster home while learning to walk on a leash, play with toys, potty habits, and just be a dog! She has no reaction to the many other dogs in the foster’s home and sometimes wants to give the kitties kisses, but mainly ignores them as well. She really just wants to be cuddle up to her person. She is a total velcro dog once she trusts you. She will want to lay next to or behind you whenever possible and loves to give hugs. Despite never being on a leash prior she has been doing great with short walks and really enjoys sniffing around the neighborhood. Sophia just needs someone with a little extra time and patience, but the love she will give you will be more than worth it. All Memos (1)
