Lexie is a tricolored female Beagle mix that grew up in a tough part of town. Besides the elderly man that took her under his wing, the other neighborhood residents were not very kind to her. Lacking resources to properly care for them and fearing for their safety, he reached out to us for help. Fortunately, we were able to bring her into our rescue. At first, Lexie was understandably wary of volunteers. It has been a journey gaining her trust. With patience and love, our volunteers showed her not all people were bad and soon won her over. She has really blossomed during her time with us. Lexie was born in 2019 and weighs 20 pounds. She is a good fit for an adult or family with teenage children that are home most of the day. She takes comfort in knowing you are near. Lexie prefers a quiet calm home where she can putter around and relax with the family. Visitors should be few as she is wary of strangers. She doesn’t expect you to fuss over her but does enjoy a soft pat on the head. Lexie enjoys when you talk to her as you do things around the house. She does well on a set schedule and a routine gives her a sense of security. Another calm confident dog in the home would be a good companion for her. Outdoor rest breaks are limited at the shelter, so she may need more work to be fully housebroken. A home with a fenced-in backyard is a must. Lexie prefers exploring and running outdoors over going on walks. On sunny days, Lexie likes to sprawl out in the grass and catch a few rays. A fenced yard is a must for this sweet, timid little lady. Shy sweet Lexie is searching for a family that will give her a wonderful life. Did I hear you say you were looking for your next best friend? If so, stop; you have found him. This boy is one of the best you'll find ! He loves to be with his Hooman, tends to bond to one person, might take him a minute, however, happily shows joy. Ketcher was very afraid when he first came to the shelter. After lots of love, affection and time, he decided he would give us a chance to love him. Now he's all about love, cuddles, kisses, and fun! Did I mention he loves water, and playing in the pup pools. This boy has energy, however can't wait to cuddle up and nap with you. If you check out our Facebook page, you will see fun videos of him loving our kennel manager! He gets along with cats and other dogs. He grows an unconditional bond with people. He would do best with someone who works from home so he can get endless amounts of cuddles. Did I say how very smart he is; he can pick out toys, and tell you how to turn on the water. A few of his favorite things are car rides, shopping trips to Lowes, Home Depot, ice cream and fun walks. A home with a fenced yard would be a plus. What’s not to love about this handsome boy?
