He was sitting on death row simply because he was too afraid - Too scared to show who he really was and too fearful to be tested with people, dogs, or cats. On paper, he was a risk. In reality, he was just a dog who had never been given safety. One of our incredible fosters saw this little question mark and said yes anyway. That decision changed everything for Pretzel. The transformation we’ve watched unfold in Pretzel’s foster home is exactly why we rescue 🙌💜 🥨 Who Pretzel is Today: Pretzel is a gentle, quiet soul who has learned that the world doesn’t have to be scary. He’s still shy, but he’s no longer shut down. He’s curious, peaceful and learning how to simply be a dog. 🐶🐈‍⬛🐥 Dog, Cat and Chicken Friendly: Pretzel LOVES other dogs and truly thrives with them. He’s also calm and respectful with cats and chickens. 👧 Kid Friendly: Will do well in a home with kids that are old enough to understand boundaries - not because he’s unkind but because he’s still gaining confidence 🏡 Low-Key Lifestyle: Doesn’t need much exercise and would do well in an apartment or home 🦮 Leash Trained & Great Recall: Walks well and checks in naturally 🧘 Quiet, Gentle, and Easygoing: His foster family has yet to hear him bark. He has no destructive behaviors, tolerates nail trims, and handles routine care well Pretzel isn’t a big cuddler (or at least not yet) and that’s okay. He prefers to be near you, quietly existing in the same space. His favorite places when he feels overwhelmed are the laundry room or outside in the barn where he can decompress on his own terms. He tells his foster family what he needs and they listen 💜 🏡 Pretzel’s Ideal Home: Pretzel needs a home with another dog - a confident, friendly companion who can help him continue building trust and confidence. He needs patience, consistency, and someone who understands that love doesn’t always look like constant affection - sometimes it looks like quiet companionship. Pretzel was never broken, he was just waiting for someone to believe in him. If you’re the kind of person who understands that the most meaningful bonds are built slowly - and that saving a life sometimes means sitting quietly beside it - Pretzel may be your perfect match. 💛🐾
