Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Our Star Wars litter are 4 month old Turkish Vans who are sweet little lovebugs. They consist of three boys and one girl. They are very active, playful and smart. They have been well socialized in their current foster home and are now looking for their forever homes. They can be adopted individually or in a bonded pair. Below are some individual traits that set them apart from each other. Luke - He is called the observer of the group by his foster home. He loves to watch his siblings play. That doesn't mean he doesn't jump into all the action, but he is fine watching from the sidelines too. His favorite toy is the laser pointer and will chase the red dot for hours if allowed to. He also is a purring machine. He is especially bonded to his siter Leia, so if you are looking for a pair, they could be a great duo. He could also be the little brother for an existing pet in the home. He is an all around great kitten. Leia - Being the only girl of the litter, that doesn't stop her from holding her own with her three brothers. She is usually the one on top during their wrestle mania sessions. She is strong and confident. She also is the talker of the group. She loves to watch the birds outside while lounging on her cat tree. And she always has something to say to her humans. She is sweet and expressive and has so much love to share with her new family. Han Solo - He is the most independent of the litter. He likes to explore and climb, often winding up in little spaces that his foster parents need to search for him to find him. He isn't hiding on purpose; he just likes to find out of the way places for his daily naps. He is also the one that will climb into his human's laps for cuddle time, he is a true lover boy. He would love to have self-entertaining toys in his new home as he needs a fair amount of stimulation to keep him happy. He would make a wonderful addition to any home. Chewbacca - He is the runt of the litter and is affectionately called Chewy by his foster parents. He is super sweet and a complete cuddle bug. He loves to snuggle with his humans in bed at night. He would love to join a home with a resident cat or cat savvy dog as he is very social and energetic and would thrive having a furry companion to hang out with. He loves people and animals alike and would be a great addition to your family. He is such a cutie pie. They have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $200 per kitten or $350 for a pair.December 4, 2023, 6:17 pm

Story
*** Katy is in a foster home ***White w/black patches Turkish Van mix, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 10/1/22, #18044Cats: likes--feline friends suggested!Dogs: unknownChildren: adults onlyAlong with the rest of her litter, Katy was rescued from the streets as a young kitten. The family made their way to The Rescue House, and after a little TLC in foster care, they began to flourish. With all of her siblings adopted, the time now has come for Katy to find her forever home too! On most days, you can find Katy embracing the true San Diego spirit by soaking up the sun in her favorite spot by the window. Naptime is a must for this fluffy beauty, especially after an afternoon of games and frolicking with her foster friends. Katy loves mealtimes and is vocal about making sure you know when it is time to eat! Katy's other favorite pastimes playing with interactive toys. While she likes to wrestle, cuddle, and frolic with kitten friends, she also is able to be independent and self-entertain. Adopting Katy isn't just for anyone. She is going to need a very special person who understands that she is exceptionally timid and reserved. Katy likes to explore gingerly at her pace and retreat back to her safe space (under a bed) when she feels overwhelmed or afraid. If you pick her up, her whole body tightens; however, she slowly will become less tense as you pet her. When in an environment where she is comfortable, like atop a cat tree, she will accept your caress and purr away in delight! Katy is soft and has wonderfully luxurious fur like a bunny rabbit, so petting her is a treat for you both! Katy is sociable with other cats and makes feline friends easily. She hasn't met dogs or young children yet, so we aren't sure of her feelings about them. Given that she is bashful, we believe a tranquil, quiet adult-only home would suit her best. Girls just want to have fun, and this gal is simply looking for the right place to host her parties-she loves a good romp with a wand toy! Do you have room in your heart and home for Katy?
