She fostered them till they were ready for us to take them. Meet WOLVERINE, a sweet and curious Turkish Van mix from Hemet, California, whose stunning yellow eyes and shiny coat will captivate you at first glance. While he may be a bit shy initially, once he builds trust with you, WOLVERINE transforms into an affectionate, cuddly companion who loves nothing more than curling up for a cozy snuggle session. His gentle nature and playful spirit make him an irresistible friend, always eager to explore new things and share love with those he holds dear. WOLVERINE has a particular fondness for wet food and Churu treats, which he eagerly devours, making meal time a delightful experience. His playful side shines through when he’s chasing after toys, leaping with agility, and engaging in his favorite games. He’s also a highly curious and inquisitive kitty, constantly exploring his surroundings and investigating every nook and cranny, making him a little adventurer at heart. One of WOLVERINE’s most special relationships is with his sister, ELEKTRA. The two love each other, spending hours together, playing and cuddling. Their companionship is a heartwarming sight, and they absolutely love being in each other’s company. Whether they’re snuggling up for a nap or embarking on a playful chase. WOLVERINE is looking for a loving family who will appreciate his quiet, thoughtful nature and understand his need for patience while he gets comfortable in a new environment. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! BANKURO, his 4 siblings and 4 older cat relatives were living in a tough area in Baldwin Park, California. These poor babies were living in someone's yard in the heat. The rescue mama happened to look on Facebook one day and saw the video of one of BANKURO''s possible siblings being chased by a coyote. Needless to say, the rescue mama set course the next day to pick them all up. So BANKURO (named after the anime: ONE PIECE) has known the street life for a very short time. With all the tragedy that has happened to this boy and his family, he deserves to be have a wonderful home. He has now been living a nice pampered life. Meet BANKURO, a Turkish Van-Tabby mix from the quiet edges of safety in Baldwin Park, California, whose story is stitched with bravery and a heart waiting to bloom. Draped in a velvety coat of soft tabby stripes with hints of creamy white, BANKURO carries a quiet elegance that pairs beautifully with his shy but deeply thoughtful nature. This handsome fellow has known the feeling of being chased by coyotes and rescued just in time—so it’s no surprise he approaches the world with a bit of caution. He’s timid and may give you a polite hiss if you rush the introduction, but give him the gift of patience and a few churru treats, and you’ll watch the sweetest transformation unfold. While touch takes time, your gentle presence and consistency can help this shy soul come out of his shell. BANKURO is a thinker—he’ll observe from a cozy perch before joining in. But once the toys come out? It’s game on! Wand toys, feathers, crinkly tunnels—play unlocks his lighter, joyful side. He’s also incredibly food-motivated, and if you happen to hold a treat pouch in your hand, well, you just might be his new favorite person. He thrives in the company of other confident, kind-hearted cats who respect his space and offer companionship without overwhelming him. He may be best suited for a calm, cat-savvy household, where feline friendships can blossom and humans understand the art of quiet connection. He hasn’t yet met dogs or children, so a home without either—or one that can introduce him slowly and safely—would be the most comforting path for him. BANKURO doesn’t ask for much—just time, understanding, and a warm spot where he can feel secure. And in return? You’ll gain a loyal, unique companion whose moments of trust are as rewarding as they are heart-melting. Are you the calm, patient companion who can help this beautiful boy feel truly at home? Apply at Workinwhiskers.com to bring BANKURO’s quiet courage into your life. ************************** AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER TO ADOPT *************************** BANKURO is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TURKISH VAN-TABBY MIX. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. That said, it’s not uncommon for cats to live into their late teens or twenties. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. CASION and CASSIE were living in really bad area of Torrance, CA. The independent rescuer was asked to help get the local strays fixed and save these 2 teenagers. We were more than happy to help! These poor little guys were so malnourished, sick and scared. So once there was space at our rescue, we picked them up! Meet CASION, a gentle and shy black and white Turkish Van from Torrance, California, whose sweet nature is just waiting to be uncovered by a patient and loving family. CASION may be a little skittish at first, but once he feels safe and secure, his playful side shines through, and you'll discover what a joyful companion he truly is. CASION’s delicate personality means he’s not one to rush into new situations, but with a little time and a lot of understanding, he becomes a loving presence in your home. He’s especially fond of wet cat food and churru treats—there’s nothing quite like seeing his eyes light up when he gets a taste of something yummy. His quiet demeanor can sometimes be mistaken for shyness, but CASION has a lot of love to give once he feels at ease. This Turkish Van is also playful and curious, and he loves to chase after toys and explore his surroundings when he’s feeling comfortable. His playful spirit is sure to bring a smile to your face as he tumbles around, showing off his natural agility. CASION also adores the company of other friendly cats. He’s a social kitty at heart and would thrive in a home with another gentle feline friend to share his days with. CASION may be a little more reserved than some cats, but in the right environment, with a patient family who understands his need for slow introductions, he will blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion. He truly needs a loving home where he can feel safe to be himself and share his sweet personality with those who care for him. Could you offer CASION the home he needs to become the playful, loving cat he was meant to be? If you’re ready to help this shy boy come out of his shell and experience the joy of his company, apply today and give CASION the true home he’s been waiting for! YAZHU and what we believe are his siblings were saved from a really rough neighborhood in LA County. This wonderful group that helps out people in that area do TNR (Trap - Neuter - Return) saved them. So the adults were all TNRed and the kittens were sent to rescues. We took on YAZHU and his siblings (YING - YANG - YISRAEL - YAWEN). YAZHU has been ready for his FUREVER home for a long time. Meet YAZHU, a cat with a personality that is as varied as it is endearing. Independent and brave, he is a feline who thrives on his own, yet is always ready for a game of chase. His smart and mellow nature makes him an excellent companion for quiet evenings. Despite his shy and timid demeanor, YAZHU has a sweet, curious, and goofy side that shines through once he warms up to you. He's known to be a bit skittish, but his love for treats always wins out. YAZHU is not just funny and playful, but he also brings joy and laughter to everyone around him. If you're looking for a cat who is full of surprises and will keep you on your toes, YAZHU is the one. His unique personality and love for life make him the perfect addition to any home looking for a little extra love and laughter. YAHZU absolutely has the personality of a Turkish Van cat. His personality is best described as energetic, playful and fun-loving. Turkish Vans like to be cuddled and held on their own terms, though not for long periods of time. But YAHZU does come look for pets. And he is totally treat motivated! YAZHU is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TURKISH VAN MIX. He has a black spot on his nose, black on his ears and a black tail. He is 4 years and 3 months old He has never been around small children. In the rescue he has been exposed to dogs and he is quite curious about them. He absolutely loves all cats! YAZHU is currently located at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4.
