Mochi was a stray that was attacked by a hawk during the first couple weeks of her life. She typically stayed far away from her litter and only closely to her mother. She was adopted at around 1 month of age and stayed in a single apartment room for the first year of her life. She is very energetic, loves to play and is very affectionate. She would give licks often and would settle near you and would even perch on your chest to nap. After the move to the new house and introduction of another adult cat into the home, she began to show territorial behaviors, including growling, hunting, swiping and spraying to mark territory. She would always patrol the house and rub her scent into carpets and walls. After heavy deliberation and instruction from different vets, we believe she would better be suited to go back to being the only pet in the house.

Meet Shortcake — a 4½-month-old Turkish Van / Domestic Shorthair kitten with soft white fur and a tiny gray “kiss” on the top of his head, a classic Turkish Van trademark. His bright golden eyes are always full of curiosity… and usually looking for his next friend. According to his foster family, Shortcake doesn’t just like people — he chooses them. He happily greets everyone he meets, eagerly joins playtime, and once he’s worn himself out, he transforms into a professional cuddler. Lap time? Yes please. Following you around the house to supervise? Absolutely. Shortcake wants to be part of whatever you’re doing, and he does it all with a cheerful, affectionate personality that’s impossible not to love. Shortcake is an indoor-only kitten who will thrive in a safe home where he can bond closely with his people. He’s litter box trained and settling into new routines comes naturally to him. His friendly confidence suggests he’d do well with a welcoming cat companion and gentle, respectful children. He hasn’t met dogs yet, but with slow introductions he may adapt nicely to calm, cat-savvy pups. Poundcake arrived in his foster home as a quiet observer, the sort of kitten who preferred to take in the world before jumping into it. It didn’t take long, though, for his true personality to shine. Beneath that thoughtful first impression is a cheerful, friendly, thoroughly easygoing little cat who seems perfectly content just being near his people. Most days you’ll find him alongside his sibling and constant companion, Shortcake. The two share a gentle rhythm — a bit of soft wrestling, a pause to watch the room together, then settling down shoulder-to-shoulder as if they planned it that way. Poundcake especially enjoys the quieter moments: a hand reaching down to pet him, someone talking to him while he looks up with those warm gold eyes, or curling beside his foster family to be included in everyday life. At just four and a half months old, this Turkish Van and Domestic Shorthair mix already has the hallmark charm of the breed. His plush white coat is accented by a small gray mark atop his head, and his relaxed nature makes him feel more like a longtime companion than a busy kitten. He enjoys playtime, but he never demands it — he prefers connection, closeness, and comfort. All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed   Casey:  Snowshoe Siamese, DOB 4/12/18, Male, affectionately know as Big Daddy Sasha: Turkish Van Calico, DOB 10/26/21, female Casey and Sasha ended up in a local shelter when their owner died, and the executor of the estate didn’t know what to do with the cats.  The owner originally adopted Casey from Cat Matchers when he was a kitten.  Luckily, he had a microchip and we were contacted.  Sasha was adopted by the owner through a different rescue group.  Per the shelter, the rescue declined to take Sasha back.  Casey and Sasha were sitting on top of each other in the shelter cages.  They were terrified and bonded to the point that if they could have crawled into each other’s body, they probably would have.  Cat Matchers decided to take Sasha back in with Casey.  There was a 3rd cat from this owner that also came through a different rescue.  Cat Matchers took this one as well.  The 3rd cat wasn’t very bonded to this pair, so we were able to get her adopted on her own. Casey and Sasha were really depressed and stopped eating for a while.  They had to be syringe and hand fed at first.   Casey had all of his teeth removed prior to our picking him up from the shelter.   Sasha ended up needing her teeth removed as well, so we took care of that.    Even though they are missing their teeth, they can eat small kibble dry food and wet food just fine. Sasha is very affectionate. She likes to be held. She will put both her arms around your neck, hang on tight and kiss and kiss and kiss she does kiss a lot and it can be annoying to the wrong person. Big daddy is very outgoing and very friendly. He’s not a giant fan of being held but maybe down the road. It’s not fear it’s just he’s really playful and outgoing and he loves baby talk so if whoever picks him up could baby talk with him that would go a long way to keeping him from reverting back to fear and would be great given all that he’s been through. He really responds to baby talk. These 2 wonderful cats are bonded and should be adopted together. We hope you can find it in your heart to adopt an older pair of cats and give them a forever home to call their own. Sasha is a charming Turkish Van calico cat, with a heart as gentle as her purrs. She was adopted as a kitten but the owners life changed and now she is in need of her forever home with her adoptive brother, Casey.  Sasha can seem a bit shy when you first meet, however, with gentle affection she will quickly warm up and her true friendly nature will shine through.  Once she feels safe, Sasha will curl up in your lap, purring her sweet purr.
