Story
I will be arriving to Vancouver Mid-Sept. Greetings everyone. My name is ZAHARA and here is a little info about me:Breed: Viszla/Dachshund mixAge: 3 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 28 lbsCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s):  Energetic, Daring, Outgoing, Brave Gang way, here I come. Looking for fun times and lovely living in Canada.I was given away by my original owner, who is a travel nurse and had to relocate. My new home didn’t treat me well; I wasn’t fed well and was tied down all day and all night long. I ended up being malnourished and was dumped at the local marketplace. The local rescue staff was contacted by the shop vendor and they took me in two years ago.I am a tough as nails pup, super loving and playful. I have super high energy, making me a great activity companion. I am perfect as an outdoors dog. I have a good nose, run super fast, and would love to go on hikes in the Pacific Northwest. I have been well leash trained. Maybe scent work is in my future... agility? flyball? tracking? Frisbee? I'm sure there are all sorts of sports out there we could do together. Maybe you are a runner needing that friend to pace you. Or a swimmer who wants a paddling buddy.Let's find what suits us and go for it. I'm brave and daring, are you?Being an outgoing girlie, I will do well being in your social circle. I get along withe other dogs too. My rescuer states I am good with kitties as I interacted well with them around the ranch and good with kids, as well. No vids for either of these yet though. I lived in a home for a few months so know about waiting to go potty. It has been a little while, so a refresher about it would be good. An additional note, my rescuer says I have tremendous leadership skills as I was the dog they used to introduce new dogs to the ranch. How's that for all around experience?I am just hoping for an active family. Preferbly with a yard, but if we get out enough, that isn't a requirement.Vids to come. Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proof yetKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proof yet Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated and LAL will pay for my microchip after arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2504724##

Meet Hank - A Special Boy Ready for His Next ChapterHi friends, I'm Hank, a 6-month-old pup who's as sweet as they come. The team thinks I might be a mix of Vizsla and Whippet (fancy, right?), but what we know for sure is that I'm absolutely amazing.Life threw me a curveball early on-I came into care with a badly broken leg. Pretty rough when you're just a puppy! But thanks to incredible vets and lots of TLC, I had surgery and I'm on the road to a full recovery. Soon, I'll be running like the wind again!Pictures don't do me justice-I'm even more handsome in person. Because I'm still healing, I'll need to go home in a foster-to-adopt arrangement. That means my new family will continue my care and vet visits (all booked by the Centre) while I settle in. Once I'm cleared by the vet, the adoption can be finalized. The best part? I can start my new journey with you right now-no waiting!***Important: While I recover, I'll need to be on a strict low-impact plan-no stairs, no jumping, and no exceptions. This is to make sure my leg heals perfectly so I can enjoy a happy, active life later.***I've shown I'm great meeting other dogs, big and small, and I'm ready to find a home where I'll be showered with love. Do you have a place in your heart (and home) for this special boy?Come meet Hank-he's ready to turn the page and start his happily ever after with you. Story
Hi, my name is CARSON (aka Charlie) and here is a little info about me: Age: 5 yearsGender: maleWeight: 60lbs / 27kgHeight: 64cm / 25inHighlights: playful with other dogs, cuddly, good with all people, handsome  Based on my breed traits, my gentle nature around humans, and my affectionate behavior, my rescuers believe I may have once been a working dog—possibly used for hunting. I was found wandering the streets with injured legs, likely discarded when I could no longer do the job I was meant for. When an animal lover gave me attention, I didn’t want to let her go and tried to get into her car. When she let me, I was so happy that I put my head on her lap the whole ride home to thank her. I’m a happy, playful boy who loves meeting new people and heading out on adventures. I bond quickly and deeply, and I’m great with humans of all ages—including kids. I get along well with other dogs and love to play, but I like to be the alpha when it comes to food—so I’d prefer not to share my meals with my four-legged pals. And cats? Not really my thing. My ideal home you ask?  I would be happy with an active family who takes me out on lots of adventures, or in a quieter home with children. I am not very fussy!  As long as I have people to give me cuddles, I will be happy! Energy level: moderate I get along with:dogs: yescats: nokids: yes, await video Prey drive: medium. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient with me through my transition. Training: Some leash training.  Leash skills still need some work. Generally happily walks alongside human handlers, can become stressed and may refuse to walk when he feels pressure from collar/harness. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No. Please be prepared to help! Health notes: I have a limp in my right hind leg. My rescuers don’t know what caused it, but according to the vet, there is an old break that healed incorrectly on it's own. No intervention or treatment is necessary or recommended now. I will be able to have a normal life despite my limp. Sometimes I prefer not to use my leg, but when I run and play I do use it. My rescuer can provide X-Rays.I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most problematic behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1482083##

Story
Hi, I’m Lili and I’d love to tell you a bit about myself! I am looking for my forever adopter. Could that perhaps be you? I've been in British Columbia for about 6 months, living close to nature and with a big yard to run around in. I love my humans, playing with other dogs, cuddles, car rides, and I am a great dog around young children. I am still working on some separation anxiety but I'm a smart dog so I'm sure that, with support, I can gain in confidence. Breed: German Shorthaired PointerAge: 2 y/oGender: FemaleWeight: 60lbs / 23kgHeight: (ground to shoulder) TBDCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Friendly, affectionate, obedient, playful One look into my deep, soulful eyes, and I’ll have you hooked on my love. At a very young age I was abandoned on the streets of Lebanon. Scared and confused, my sharp wits kicked in which saved me from being struck by chaotic traffic and attacks from unfriendly street dogs. As a young pup unprepared for survival as a stray, I needed help, and found it in a compassionate stranger. My rescuer clearly saw that I was struggling, and brought me to safety. What a relief it was to once again feel loved! Alas, my stay with her was short-lived as she had two of her own beloved dogs. She found a foster home for me, and I have been in their care for the past year.  It’s alright here (I’m off the streets!), but my ultimate goal is to settle into a longterm home where I can feel secure with the right humans!  I still have a lot of learning and growing to do-- I want to be challenged and lead an active life!  I have a lot of love to give, so you'll be rewarded too! Temperament: Confident, intelligent, loving Best Home: Active lifestyle, consistent training and stimulation Energy Level: Moderate/High I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yes Fears: some separation anxiety but I am looking forward to overcoming it Training: some.  Please be prepared to train me, I'm an eager learnerLeash skills: Yes, but I can always progress furtherHouse trained: Yes.  New environments may be confusing, please be prepared to assist me in settling in $800 adoption fee plus applicable taxes Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Story
Howdy. My name is Nova and here's a little about me:Breed: Pointer/Beagle mixAge: 2 1/2 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 26 kgsHeight: 55 cmCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlights: loving, gentle, trusting, affectionate, playful, very smart My name means “new” and “ I truly live up to it. After all I have endured, I am still  loving and smiling with joy for life. And I have an elegant looking body too.The municipality shelter has become overwhelmed. With the implementation of a mass collection law, dogs have been rounded up from the streets and placed into an enormous, open area. While the space is large, it's heartbreakingly overcrowded—more than 300 dogs, and more arriving every day. Despite its scale, the municipality fails to provide even the most basic care for us, including food. Yes, it's hard to believe—but sadly, it’s the truth. That’s why my rescuers began visiting regularly to feed us dogs and check on our condition. One day, while bringing food, they saw a new group of dogs being dumped into the chaos. Among them was me. Being a small, timid soul with kind eyes, I was clearly out of place. If they hadn’t been there at that exact moment to intervene and introduce me gently to the alpha dogs, I might not have survived even the first hour. Dog fights over territory and food are common in such neglected conditions. With every visit, my rescuers noticed I was covered in new bite wounds. Each time, more than before. They were desperate to get me out. Like many rescues though, they are faced with the impossible task of finding a safe space for dogs. Then, on one visit, they found me in terrible shape—my leg shattered, dangling, and trembling. Likely I injured it while trying to escape an attack. They rushed me to the vet, but my leg couldn’t be saved. The only option was amputation. But here’s the miracle: I never stopped loving. Through all the pain, the chaos, the hunger, and the fear—I never once growled or turned away from people or other dogs. I remained gentle, trusting, and affectionate. I adore people and get along great with other dogs. I haven't been around kitties. Now, I am recovering beautifully. I move with graceful dignity, my spirit unbroken. What I need is a second chance—a loving home, a warm bed, and someone who sees me not for what I've lost, but for the incredible soul I am.I radiate happiness and hope. I am a triple sweetheart. I'm one of the most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. Despite my amputation, I am full of life. I love to play like a kid in kindergarten—chasing my dog friends, rolling on the ground, and soaking up every second of joy. Also, I am incredibly smart and food-motivated for learning. I learned to sit in 3 minutes.Though I am three-legged, I have a fairly good energy level. Though a few short walks and playtime are usually enough to keep me content.I am extremely adaptable and would do well in most home environments.I'm a soul that’s full of gratitude and ready to make new memories. I'm waiting for a human who will see beyond my missing leg and recognize my heart, my strength, and my playful spirit. Are you the one who’ll give me the life I've always deserved? Energy Level: Moderate to Moderate-HighI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: unknown Fears: none observed. Please be patient assistingTraining:Leash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: unknown. Please help me learn! Health notes: missing rear right legI have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
