Howdy. My name is Nova and here's a little about me:Breed: Pointer/Beagle mixAge: 2 1/2 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 26 kgsHeight: 55 cmCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlights: loving, gentle, trusting, affectionate, playful, very smart My name means “new” and “ I truly live up to it. After all I have endured, I am still  loving and smiling with joy for life. And I have an elegant looking body too.The municipality shelter has become overwhelmed. With the implementation of a mass collection law, dogs have been rounded up from the streets and placed into an enormous, open area. While the space is large, it's heartbreakingly overcrowded—more than 300 dogs, and more arriving every day. Despite its scale, the municipality fails to provide even the most basic care for us, including food. Yes, it's hard to believe—but sadly, it’s the truth. That’s why my rescuers began visiting regularly to feed us dogs and check on our condition. One day, while bringing food, they saw a new group of dogs being dumped into the chaos. Among them was me. Being a small, timid soul with kind eyes, I was clearly out of place. If they hadn’t been there at that exact moment to intervene and introduce me gently to the alpha dogs, I might not have survived even the first hour. Dog fights over territory and food are common in such neglected conditions. With every visit, my rescuers noticed I was covered in new bite wounds. Each time, more than before. They were desperate to get me out. Like many rescues though, they are faced with the impossible task of finding a safe space for dogs. Then, on one visit, they found me in terrible shape—my leg shattered, dangling, and trembling. Likely I injured it while trying to escape an attack. They rushed me to the vet, but my leg couldn’t be saved. The only option was amputation. But here’s the miracle: I never stopped loving. Through all the pain, the chaos, the hunger, and the fear—I never once growled or turned away from people or other dogs. I remained gentle, trusting, and affectionate. I adore people and get along great with other dogs. I haven't been around kitties. Now, I am recovering beautifully. I move with graceful dignity, my spirit unbroken. What I need is a second chance—a loving home, a warm bed, and someone who sees me not for what I've lost, but for the incredible soul I am.I radiate happiness and hope. I am a triple sweetheart. I'm one of the most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. Despite my amputation, I am full of life. I love to play like a kid in kindergarten—chasing my dog friends, rolling on the ground, and soaking up every second of joy. Also, I am incredibly smart and food-motivated for learning. I learned to sit in 3 minutes.Though I am three-legged, I have a fairly good energy level. Though a few short walks and playtime are usually enough to keep me content.I am extremely adaptable and would do well in most home environments.I'm a soul that’s full of gratitude and ready to make new memories. I'm waiting for a human who will see beyond my missing leg and recognize my heart, my strength, and my playful spirit. Are you the one who’ll give me the life I've always deserved? This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2399523##

Hi there! My name is June, and I’m a sweet little girl looking for a loving forever home! Breed: Pointer MixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 23 kg/51lbCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loyal, playful, and full of love I’m June — a soft, loving girl with eyes that tell a whole story. All I really want is to be loved and to belong. Left all alone on a remote road where no one ever passed by, life was tough for days — surviving on whatever could be found, even grass. One day, a hiker spotted me from afar. So thin and weak, yet the moment our eyes met, I ran straight to him, tail wagging, as if I’d known him forever. He couldn’t leave me there — he took me in, cared for me, and gave me a second chance at life. That moment will always be unforgettable, the moment when hope finally found me. I’m a gentle soul — playful, affectionate, and friendly with everyone I meet. I get along well with other dogs and absolutely adore people. I love playing, and warm hugs. I’m the kind of dog who’ll rest her head on your lap and make you feel peaceful just by being near. I’d love a loving home where I can finally feel safe and part of a family. Someone who enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, and quiet evenings would be my perfect match. **Note: Currently, Songsol is in Korea, but will arrive in Vancouver upon adoption. For more info about her or the adoption, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/songsol/ ---------------------------------------- Background: Songsol was found on the streets of Yongin, Korea last summer. She had been abandoned and was in terrible condition. Her body was extremely thin, with only skin and bones left. She had severe bedsores and was unable to walk. Weak and exhausted, she was rushed to the hospital where she stayed for one month. After her hospitalization, Songsol joined our partner boarding house. With proper care, she slowly began to gain weight and rebuild her strength. She now lives peacefully with other dogs and continues to grow healthier every day. Personality and Socialization: Songsol is a gentle and loving girl with a medium energy level. She is friendly with everyone she meets and does well with other dogs as long as they are friendly. More than anything, Songsol loves being with her people. She is very affectionate and enjoys cuddling and staying close to her humans. She is truly a people focused dog and feels happiest when she is by your side. Behaviour: Songsol is an easygoing and smart girl. She does well in the car and is calm during baths, grooming, and vet visits. She walks nicely on leash and is generally well behaved. She can experience separation anxiety and prefers being near her humans. For this reason, we are looking for a home where someone is around most of the time and can offer her reassurance and companionship. Health and Diet: While we do not know what Songsol went through before she was found, it is clear that she suffered severe neglect. Thankfully, she has fully recovered and is now healthy and is ready for her forever home. She does not require any special medication or treatment. Songsol is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. She eats dry food twice a day and has shown no signs of allergies. Ideal Home: Songsol is a sweet, gentle, and intelligent dog who deeply loves people. Her ideal home would be one where she is rarely left alone and is included in daily life. A detached house is preferred, as she may bark if she feels anxious when left alone. A quiet environment such as the countryside would suit her well. A retired person or someone who works from home and can spend plenty of time with Songsol would be the perfect match for this loving girl. Apply to become her family today: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/songsol/

Story
Born June 2025, Manchas and her siblings were puppies on the street far too young. Thankfully a kind stranger took them in for a few weeks while they waited for space to open up at the SPCA PV sanctuary in Puerto Vallarta. While we’re so happy she’s off the street, she belongs in a home with a family who loves her. We think she’ll grow to about 30 lbs. She is a mixed breed which may include terrier and pointer, and her name translates to “spots” for her beautiful and unique red spots on her white coat. Manchas was good tested with cats – she was very curious. As Manchas has spent her early life in sanctuary she prefers walking with other dogs and might like a dog companion to show her the way. Manchas has been going to the Saturday market in PV and has been doing amazing with meeting new people and other dogs that pass by, she’s very calm and curious. If you think you might be a good fit for this gorgeous girl, either as her happy ever after, or as a foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response in case it’s made its way there. Check out more here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRGm5yHEbfe/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Story
Hi, my name is CARSON (aka Charlie) and here is a little info about me: Age: 5 yearsGender: maleWeight: 60lbs / 27kgHeight: 64cm / 25inHighlights: playful with other dogs, cuddly, good with all people, food guarding UPDATE: I made it to Canada. Remarkably, I am alive, as I was skin and bone and scraps all over, upon arrival. The shelter I ended up in, was overcrowded and I had to fight for every morsel to survive. So I was seriously underweight. Probably a week from dying, but LAL saved me.My current home says there is so much good about me. I am fully house trained, but don't like going out in the rain, so will hold it. I lay my head on the grand daughter's lap to/from school. Everyone who meets me loves me and I love them. I can be silly, but mostly I am just a big cuddle bug. I do bond quickly with people. I freely approach people and expect affection. The home I ended up going to has a young grandaughter, so given my food resource guarding, that is not a compatible match. Older kids who can understand the issue and effectively handle the rules of the situation would likely be fine. The home where I am at would keep me, if not for a toddler age child there. She loves me. While I do get along with other dogs awesomely well, unless you are experienced with a means to separate us for food issues while I overcome this glitch, it might be best if I am the only dog, for now.Having growled and snarled a couple times and even snapped once at them to keep them from food I had gotten, has made them realize small children can't judge things well enough for my issue. BUT... I am making good progress, even after only a few weeks. I am very responsive to learning and am quite intelligent. I am calmly settling in and I am putting on good weight. I am trying to push boundaries with my new freedom, so a confidant leader is advised. I am not pulling on the leash so much now and go for daily walks. I'm good with other dogs. I just don't like the little yappy ones, but will pass by them. I do have birdiness and will creep up pointing, then leap at flappy winged creatures.Being left alone at home is not something I enjoy. I am not destructive at all. Still just a bit unsure yet. But again, that neediness is subsiding drastically, as I settle in. I like going in the car with you and will patiently await your return. Best to not leave groceries with me in the car though. I will think they are mine.I just need someone understanding of my past to give me the time to learn that I will always have food and will never starve again. Please work with me on this and know, it will improve over time. I just need love meanwhile. I will be your bestest loyal boy. Original posting: Based on my breed traits, my gentle nature around humans, and my affectionate behavior, my rescuers believe I may have once been a working dog—possibly used for hunting. I was found wandering the streets with injured legs, likely discarded when I could no longer do the job I was meant for. When an animal lover gave me attention, I didn’t want to let her go and tried to get into her car. When she let me, I was so happy that I put my head on her lap the whole ride home to thank her. I’m a happy, playful boy who loves meeting new people and heading out on adventures. I bond quickly and deeply, and I’m great with humans. I get along well with other dogs and love to play, but I like to be the alpha when it comes to food—so I’d prefer not to share my meals with my four-legged pals. And cats? Not really my thing. Also, for reasons of food guarding, please, no kids younger than teens. My ideal home you ask?  I would be happy with an active family who takes me out on lots of adventures, or in a quieter home without kids. I am not very fussy!  As long as I have people to give me cuddles, I will be happy! Energy level: moderate I get along with:dogs: yescats: nokids: teens & older Prey drive: medium. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: loss of a food source. Please be patient with me through my transition. Training: Some leash training.  Leash skills still need some work. Generally happily walks alongside human handlers, can become stressed and may refuse to walk when he feels pressure from collar/harness. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No. Please be prepared to help! Health notes: I have a limp in my right hind leg. My rescuers don’t know what caused it, but according to the vet, there is an old break that healed incorrectly on it's own. No intervention or treatment is necessary or recommended now. I will be able to have a normal life despite my limp. Sometimes I prefer not to use my leg, but when I run and play I do use it. My rescuer can provide X-Rays.I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most problematic behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1482083##

Story
Hi there. My name is BENEKLI and here is a bit about me:Breed: Pointer mixAge: 9 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 30 kgCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlights: Friendly, Gentle, Loving, Social, Playful Friendly and ready to giv'er in Canada. That is my new motto. Let's have a blast, okay?Times of my life were marked by living in a children's park together with a few other dogs. I  spent time with children and families in the park and loved being around people. After the animal collection law came into effect, I was taken to a shelter. It isn't known how I lost it, but I only have one eye. I could not protect myself and had difficulty eating among the other dogs. I stayed in the shelter for two months and amazingly survived. Now I am living in a dog boarding facility in a cage (yes, you heard that right) and would really like to spread my wings to freedom. In the area where I used to live, there were cats and I had no problems with them. I am fine with other dogs, of course. Not to worry, not having one eye doesn't slow me down at all. I can still romp and play just like everyone else.My ideal home would be one that has a yard, but not a requirement if we can get out for fun times. If my new home allows for yard access, even better. You'll find me to be a bit of a socialite. I enjoy whooping it up with friends. Hard to believe I am a senior, eh? I am gentle & loving though and would enjoy a bit of quiet snuggling moments too.I'd love to spend my golden years in your arms as a Canadian puptizen. Are you ready for me? Videos coming soon. Energy Level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: unknown, likely yesKids: unknown (rescuer states yes, but no video proof) Fears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: Some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: In progress. Please continue to help me learn! Health Notes: Missing one eye.I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated. I will be microchipped soon.My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.
