Story

If ever there was a pup in need of a happy ever after, it's Rusty. This boy was the last dog to be pulled from the shelter kill list. Why? It certainly wasn't because he was a bad boy. Instead it was because of his eye. He had a growth in his eye that was bloody and obscuring his vision. People didn't want to risk taking on his vet bills, but we couldn't let this sweet soul be euthanized. We worked with a wonderful rescue partner to pull him out of the shelter and get him veterinary care. We were able to have the growth surgically removed and then waited with bated breath to see if the growth was cancerous. We just got the good news that the growth was completely benign (not cancerous)!!! Hurray for Rusty! Rusty is about 2 years old and weighs 57 pounds. He gets along wonderfully with people; but we think that he will do best as an only dog since he can be selective (especially with other males). He's a high energy dog (who wouldn't be after regaining sight!) and would do great with an active family. He's good on a leash and good in the car. He's already picked up on a few commands such as 'sit' and he understands 'no.' Rusty is more than ready to find his forever home and start a new chapter of life - one filled with love, heath and happiness! Personality: friendly, affectionate, resilient, active, loves water, good in car Good with: people. Will do best as only dog. Has not been cat tested yet. At just seven months old, 28 lbs, she’s discovering the world and all the wonderful things it has to offer. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, Janet’s affectionate and playful personality truly comes to life. Based on her appearance, Janet looks like a mix of Vizsla and Whippet, which gives her a wonderful combination of elegance, intelligence, and athleticism. She enjoys spending time with her caregivers, soaking up affection, and engaging in playful moments with her furry friends. Thanks to the care she has received through our rescue partner, Janet has been growing and learning in a safe and supportive environment. This has helped her develop into a kind, gentle, and well-behaved young dog who is ready to continue thriving with a loving family. Janet gets along very well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a friendly canine companion in her new home. A confident dog sibling could help her feel even more secure while providing a great playmate. She is also gentle with children and shows respectful curiosity around cats. She could also be happy as the only dog in a home with adopters who are committed to helping her build confidence through socialization and puppy classes. Janet is crate trained and currently working on her potty training. With a consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and a little patience, she will continue learning every day. How can a puppy be this unlucky? 😔 Dahlia can’t find the spotlight on the adoption circuit, and doesn’t seem inspire many shares. For a 3 month old puppy this girl has virtually gone unnoticed. It is ironic that such a well behaved puppy hasn’t caught the attention of a potential forever family. This girl is super smart with an excellent understanding of her puppy skills. She is a people pleaser so she is quite driven to learn. Dahlia loves everyone kids, cats, pups and even pigs. Her adaptability into new environments has been quick and easy.
