Story
Meet Schultz Our Lovable, Loyal Gentleman Waiting for His Forever Home Shultz has been part of the Great Lakes Weim Rescue family for over 700 days, and while we adore every moment with him, we know his perfect person is out therejust waiting to meet this one-of-a-kind guy. This handsome 8-year-old silver boyhas a crinkled ear that only adds to his charm and character. Hes a quirky soul with a gentle heart, and hes looking for a calm, quiet home where he can be someones devoted companion. He would lovea human whos home often and preferablya household with another mellow dog to hang out withwhen you are gone, Shultz thrives when he has a pack to belong to. Hes not demandingjust a short walk or meander in the yardto sniff the world is enough for him. After that, hes perfectly content to snooze on a dog bed thathes carefully fluffed andarranged for maximum comfort (hes quite the interior designer!). Shultz has also taken on the very important role of yourofficial door greeter. When you come home, hell be there, tail wagging, ready to welcome you back with joy and devotion. Shultz gets along well with other dogs who are calm and respectful. He prefers a slow, proper dog-to-dog introduction, and once hes comfortable, he fits right in. Hes also a vigilant little guardianalways ready to alert you to any stranger danger, even if its just a squirrel with suspicious intentions. Hes deeply committed to his human pack and does fine with guests who areintroduced in neutral spaceslowly outside of the homein the yard. Once he knows theyre approved, hell happily welcome them as part of the extended pack. Health-wise, Shultz is doing well, though hes starting to show a bit of arthritis in his back legs. He may move a little slower when getting up (dont we all?), but it doesnt stop him from enjoying life'slittle pleasures. His favorite pastimes? Backing up for butt scratches (his reverse "beep-beeper" is broken, so don't be surprisedashell do it anywhereeven when he visits you inthe bathroom!), emptying the toy box, selectingjsut the right toy or chewand rolling around playfully on itbefore settling in with the perfect chew toy. And when its mealtime? Prepare for drama! Hell flop dramatically on the living room floor like hes wasting awaysprawled out like he would need a chalk line around him until the scent of rotisserie chicken hits the air. Then its happy feet time as he trots to the kitchen like a brand-new dog. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, quirky, and loyal old soul, Shultz would love to meet you. Hes patiently waiting to see if theres a sparkand we know that when the right person comes along, itll be magic.

Story
Meet Stella & Adele A Bonded Pair of Silver Beauties Stella and Adele are two stunning two-year old silver Weimaraner girls who have come a long way on their journey to freedom and love. Just over a year old when they arrived at GLWR, these girls were surrendered from a Missouri puppy mill where life was nothing but cement floors, wire fences, and isolation. They had never known kindness, soft voices, or gentle handsonly fear and survival. Both were heartworm positive when they came to us, and Adele had already been cycled for breeding. Their first ride to safety was terrifying; they huddled together on the floorboard, unsure of what was happening. But thanks to patient, loving GLWR volunteers, they began to learn that humans could be trusted. Over time, Stella and Adele discovered what freedom feels likerunning with the Weim pack, digging in the sand, dragging branches, and even unearthing a buried teacup (Stella was very proud of that find!). Through heartworm treatment and recovery, they showed incredible resilience and bravery. Today, these girls are healthy, happy, and ready for their forever home. Theyve learned so much: Basic commands like sit, shake, and nice for gentle treat-taking Leash manners and enjoy meeting new people on walks They love soft beds, toys, treats, chews, andmost of allattention Personality Snapshot: Stella is an outgoing social butterfly, quick to learn and eager to please. Adele is more reserved but deeply loving once she feels safe. They are strongly bonded and must be adopted together. Theyve done well with other dogs and love to play and socialize. We feel that placementin a home with another well-trained dog to help continue their learnings and to teach them how to do dog "stuff" would be ideal (Adele has already dabbled in "counter terrorism" so clean kitchen countersare a must!). A physicalbarrier-fenced yard is a must for these girls as they have much to learn about the big world outside yet. While theywere kennel trained, crate training in theirfoster home was not entirely successful, but they do well with gated areas when needed to be left or confined for a bit. Adele may need a little extra patience with house training, as occasional accidents could be anxiety related. Soft pillows and lots of sunlight radiating into the house where theycan soak up the sun during afternoon nap is a special request from the girls! They havenot hadany exposure to children, and although both girls are gentleand kind and have never shown any aggressive or negativebehaviors,we feel an adult basedhome with a calmer environment would be a more suitable environment for them as they continue their journey of learning and discovery. Cats are also unknown as they have no historybeing around furry felines. These girls have endured so much and deserve a home filled with love, patience, and security. If youre ready to open your heart to two sweet souls who will reward you with loyalty and affection, Stella and Adele are waiting. Theya recurrently fostered in a suburb city of Darien nearChicago, IL Requirements: Fenced yard Preferably no long hours alone A patient family committed to continuing their journey of trust and confidence Adult based home with a calm and secure inside and outside environment Preferably another established dog in the home that can guide and teach them good behaviors

Story
Hunter is an almost 6-year-old blue Weimaraner with a full tail. Hes currently in Madison Ohio waiting to meet his new family. This handsome guy is equal parts snuggler and sunbatherhes perfectly happy curling up on the couch with you or soaking up rays in the backyard. Hunter has a funny way of asking for love: hell serenade you with his bark when he wants attention (and trust us, its pretty charming). At night, hes a world-class cuddler who loves burrowing under blanketswhether its on the couch, in bed, or in his cozy snoozer cave. Hunter would love to be the star of someones world. Hed do best as an only dog, or with a playmate that wouldnt mind him being the alpha. He especially bonds with men and will be a loyal, devoted companion. Hes also great around kids, though a home with children 12+ would be best so he has his space respected. If youre looking for a sweet, snuggly, and oh-so-handsome best friend, Hunter is ready to steal your heart!

Story
Meet Tucker! Currently being fostered in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Tucker is a sweet and snuggly 5-year-old pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. This handsome guy is the perfect mix of playful and mellow he loves his daily walks, chasing after his favorite ball, and spending quality time with his humans. Tucker gets along beautifully with his foster sister and has proven himself to be a loyal, gentle companion. Whether he's lounging by your side or trotting happily by your feet, Tucker just wants to be near the people he loves. He does have some skin allergies, but theyre easily managed with a daily medication and Tucker doesnt let them slow him down for a second! He's on vet prescribed Apoquel daily and it runs about $100 per month. We are unsure of the cause of his current allergies - and they could very well be environmental or seasonal. Tucker is looking for a forever home where he can shower his family with affection, loyalty, and plenty of tail wags. If you're ready to open your heart to a devoted friend, Tucker is ready to meet you!
