At 11 years young, Chaka finds herself in search of a new loving home due to circumstances beyond her control her mom's transition to hospice care. But don't let her age fool you; Chaka has plenty of love and life left to give. Story
Meet Echo, your potential new furry confidante! At five years old, this Weimaraner is brimming with love and ready to find her forever family. Echo embodies the quintessential Velcro Weimaraner, deeply devoted to her humans and yearning for that special bond. Circumstances beyond her control have led her on a search for a new home, but her heart remains open and eager for connection. While she enjoys the company of other dogs, Echo thrives best either as the sole canine companion or alongside a furry sibling, where she can gracefully assume the role of gentle leader. Already housebroken and crate trained, Echo makes transitioning into a new home a seamless experience. With her intelligence on display through mastering the use of a doggy door, she's proven her adaptability time and time again. While she's content to snooze in her crate, her true joy lies in snuggling up next to you, embodying the classic Velcro Weimaraner trait with her nose touching your shoulder. An energetic soul, Echo is always up for a game of fetch or a romp in the backyard with her favorite ball or stick. Yet, she equally appreciates moments of tranquility, happily lounging on the couch as you catch up on your favorite shows. Grooming sessions are a breeze with Echo, who readily accepts nail trims and bath time without fuss. For those who love the great outdoors, Echo is the perfect adventure buddy. She delights in walks and hikes, though she could benefit from a bit of leash manners training as she tends to pull. Her enthusiasm knows no bounds, especially upon your return home, but she's making strides in learning not to jump. In the right home, Echo thrives as an integral part of the family. She revels in being included in various activities and is sociable enough to join you at restaurants or winery patios, enjoying the company of both humans and fellow canines. With her trusting and loving nature, Echo is poised to bring boundless joy and companionship into the lives of her new family. If you're in search of a loyal and affectionate friend, look no further than Echo!

Story
Words cannot express how absolutely beautiful the coloring of Herman’s coat is, he is stunning! This sweet puppy is estimated to be about 6 months old and weighs 42 pounds. Herman is some sort of mix breed but we think possibly some Weimaraner, lab, and some staffy in the mix. Here are some nice facts about him: Goofy Affectionate Playful Loose and wiggly Nice Wants to please you Kind eyes Can be a little submissive Loves tennis balls Adorable smile Seems more drawn and at ease with females right now If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, may do best with a calmer dog playmate Needs a home where any children are at least 4 years old If you are interested in Herman and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Story
Introducing the one and only Kai - the forever young canine extraordinaire! At a sprightly 9 years old, this neutered Blue boy is proof that age is just a number, because he's rocking it like a pup in his prime! Currently, Kai resides with a dynamic duo - a married couple and a dynamic doggy duo, an 8-year-old Boxer/Lab mix, and a 9-year-old small mix. And let me tell you, Kai's social skills are top-notch! When the doorbell rings, he'll serenade you with a couple of enthusiastic barks before greeting guests with a wagging tail and the manners of a true gentleman. Kai's daily routine is as structured as a puppy preschool syllabus. From morning walks to backyard breaks, he's got it all planned out. But the highlight of his day? Bedtime, baby! Kai's the king of snuggles, always first in line for a cozy cuddle session. And let's talk about his bathroom etiquette, shall we? This pooch is more reliable than your morning alarm clock. Not a single accident in the house - talk about impressive! Plus, he's a pro at sharing the love. If one of his furry siblings gets some scratches and snuggles, you can bet Kai's patiently waiting for his turn. Now, when it comes to hobbies, Kai's got a bit of a wild side. He's a seasoned pro at squirrel chasing, though he's yet to prove his fence-hopping skills. But hey, why bother when there's so much love and fun to be had on this side? So, if you're looking for a canine companion who's part pup, part perpetual joy machine, look no further than Kai! Just be prepared to give him the love and attention he deserves - and maybe a few extra scratches behind the ears.
