Story
Meet Schultz Our Lovable, Loyal Gentleman Waiting for His Forever Home Shultz has been part of the Great Lakes Weim Rescue family for over 700 days, and while we adore every moment with him, we know his perfect person is out therejust waiting to meet this one-of-a-kind guy. This handsome 8-year-old silver boyhas a crinkled ear that only adds to his charm and character. Hes a quirky soul with a gentle heart, and hes looking for a calm, quiet home where he can be someones devoted companion. He would lovea human whos home often and preferablya household with another mellow dog to hang out withwhen you are gone, Shultz thrives when he has a pack to belong to. Hes not demandingjust a short walk or meander in the yardto sniff the world is enough for him. After that, hes perfectly content to snooze on a dog bed thathes carefully fluffed andarranged for maximum comfort (hes quite the interior designer!). Shultz has also taken on the very important role of yourofficial door greeter. When you come home, hell be there, tail wagging, ready to welcome you back with joy and devotion. Shultz gets along well with other dogs who are calm and respectful. He prefers a slow, proper dog-to-dog introduction, and once hes comfortable, he fits right in. Hes also a vigilant little guardianalways ready to alert you to any stranger danger, even if its just a squirrel with suspicious intentions. Hes deeply committed to his human pack and does fine with guests who areintroduced in neutral spaceslowly outside of the homein the yard. Once he knows theyre approved, hell happily welcome them as part of the extended pack. Health-wise, Shultz is doing well, though hes starting to show a bit of arthritis in his back legs. He may move a little slower when getting up (dont we all?), but it doesnt stop him from enjoying life'slittle pleasures. His favorite pastimes? Backing up for butt scratches (his reverse "beep-beeper" is broken, so don't be surprisedashell do it anywhereeven when he visits you inthe bathroom!), emptying the toy box, selectingjsut the right toy or chewand rolling around playfully on itbefore settling in with the perfect chew toy. And when its mealtime? Prepare for drama! Hell flop dramatically on the living room floor like hes wasting awaysprawled out like he would need a chalk line around him until the scent of rotisserie chicken hits the air. Then its happy feet time as he trots to the kitchen like a brand-new dog. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, quirky, and loyal old soul, Shultz would love to meet you. Hes patiently waiting to see if theres a sparkand we know that when the right person comes along, itll be magic.

Meet Diesel (DZ) Loyal, Loving, and Ready to Be Your Fourth Leg! Diesel, affectionately known as DZ, is a handsome 3-year-old silver Weimaraner with a heart as big as his stride. Crate trained, housebroken, and able to free roam comfortably once he settles in, Diesel is a happy-go-lucky guy who thrives in a structured, calm environment. This sweet boy would do best in a quiet, rural home without a lot of external stimulation. Hes not a city doghe prefers the peace of the countryside, where he can relax, explore, and enjoy life at a steady pace. Diesel is command trained and incredibly loyal. Once he bonds with you, hell stick by your sideeven if youre walking on a treadmill! He just wants to be with his person, no matter what. Diesel is great with other large dogs and would truly shine in a home with a pack of 23 playful canine companions. If your home feels like a three-legged stool and you're looking for that perfect fourth legDZ might just be your guy! While hes affectionate and loving with those he trusts, Diesel is not a match for homes with small animalsthey look a little too much like prey to him. Hes also better suited to a home without small children, simply due to his size and energetic personality. Diesel is a sweet, loyal, and playful companion whos ready to find his forever family. If youre looking for a dog who will love you fiercely, play hard with his doggy siblings, and be your loyal shadow, Diesel is ready to meet you. Story
Meet Tucker! Currently being fostered in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Tucker is a sweet and snuggly 5-year-old pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. This handsome guy is the perfect mix of playful and mellow he loves his daily walks, chasing after his favorite ball, and spending quality time with his humans. Tucker gets along beautifully with his foster sister and has proven himself to be a loyal, gentle companion. Whether he's lounging by your side or trotting happily by your feet, Tucker just wants to be near the people he loves. He does have some skin allergies, but theyre easily managed with a daily medication and Tucker doesnt let them slow him down for a second! He's on vet prescribed Apoquel daily and it runs about $100 per month. We are unsure of the cause of his current allergies - and they could very well be environmental or seasonal. Tucker is looking for a forever home where he can shower his family with affection, loyalty, and plenty of tail wags. If you're ready to open your heart to a devoted friend, Tucker is ready to meet you!

Story
Rio is a beautiful 5 year old Weimaraner mix - with a Lab we believe. Rio was likely dumped by his owner as he was found in the forest of a nature preserve with Santorini (see Sandys bio). Both dogs were likely in survival mode for several months. Theyre remarkably resilient dogs currently being fostered in Grand Haven, Michigan. They do not have to be adopted together - but if youre in the market for a pair of dogsSandy & Rio would be ever so grateful.

Story
Meet Chief, a vibrant 7-year-old currently under foster care in Grand Haven, Michigan. Though rumors suggest that Chief may actually be a grey/fawn Doberman, the tabloids are yet to uncover any definitive proof. In his heart, however, Chief firmly believes he's a Weimaraner, and his spirited personality reflects just that. Describing Chief is a delightful challenge: he exudes intense energy, revels in playful antics, and is a self-entertainer who loves tossing toys and dragging sticks (a total goofball, in the best way). He's absolutely crazy about food and snacks, but at the same time, he's as sweet and affectionate as they come, loving you to the moon and back. While Chief can be a bit of an "arse" when he initially meets other male dogs, this initial bluster quickly fades, and he eagerly embraces playtime and socializing. When it comes to meeting female dogs, he's always the picture of a gentleman. However, due to his high energy and exuberance, Chief isn't suitable for a home with small children his enthusiasm could easily result in a knockdown. Chief's ideal home and family would be in an adult-only setting, possibly with 1-2 larger dogs of calm demeanor to balance his energetic spirit. He'd thrive in a spacious, secure yard where he can run laps to his heart's content. Chief is housebroken and crate trained, but establishing a defined schedule for him will be essential until he gets the hang of the routine. This boy exudes happiness and a zest for life like no other. If you're in search of a companion with boundless energy, strength, endurance, and a passion for running, Chief may be your perfect match. He'll be eagerly waiting (likely doing laps while he waits), so don't hesitate his adoption might just happen faster than you think!
