Meet this handsome goofball: a Weimaraner–Lab mix with model looks and cartoon physics. 🐶 He communicates in two very clear ways: The Nose Push and Out Loud Opinions. If you’re busy or ignoring him, no worries—he’ll simply appear behind you and gently (or not-so-gently) poke you with his snoot until you remember he exists. Problem solved. His favorite hobbies include playtime with his doggy bestie, chewing on toys and bones like it’s his full-time job, and playing on top of literally anything—beds, couches, toys, and yes… humans. When playtime ends and recharge mode begins, he’ll either dramatically plop himself on top of you or use you as a shield to hide behind. Very advanced tactics. He’s an adorably uncoordinated, silly boy who loves other dogs and is still undecided about cats (friend? snack? mysterious moving furniture?). One thing he’s absolutely certain about: he has the most beautiful eyes and the sweetest face you’ve ever seen, and he will use them to his advantage. He’s learning his commands and already crushing it at “sit.” And if you mention the word treat? He will march right into his kennel like a perfect angel who has never done anything wrong in his life. In short: he’s goofy, loving, dramatic, and irresistibly handsome—and he’s ready to push his nose straight into your life!! Adopt him!! The nose KNOWS!! Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die... Anyway, off my soapbox because so so many people and rescues in the south are working hard to overcome stupidity and do the right thing so it doesn't happen to other pups! I am a sweet and really gorgeous girl. My siblings and I looked very pittie and weimaraner size/temperament and personality wise. I have a gorgeous apricot colored coat with some blonde highlights (the kind you get at a fancy hairdresser :), mine were FREE :) I am now 3.6 yrs old and in my maturity I have stopped all the puppy antics- no chewing, barking, digging, peeing or pooping all over the place for me!! i am well mannered, will hang out with you while you work and then we can go for a walk or a run and then binge watch Masterchef (I LOVE ME some GORDON RAMSAY!!) until we get sleepy! That is my ideal day, so if you are down for hanging out with me all the time, fill out the adoption application and just give me happy and loving home please!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Waffle is such a sweet soul. She absolutely loves to play and would benefit best with a fenced in yard. She is only ten months old so she often thinks nipping is playing but responds well to a stern “no” once…or maybe twice. She knows how to sit and wait for food- she is so sweet! She is not a big cuddler but loves for you to sit on the ground and scratch her. Waffle sleeps all night quietly in her kennel and is completely potty trained. She dribbles if she is very excited but nothing uncontrollable. Whoever adopts her will be such a lucky family, she is so loving but also gives you space.

Hi! My name is Bandito, and I am from Arkansas! From his foster: Bandito has been in a foster home for several months, and he has made meaningful, hard-earned progress. He now happily sleeps in bed with his foster (a big win!), and he’s starting to seek out gentle affection on his own terms, a huge milestone for a dog who is learning to feel safe. His kennel remains his cozy safe space, and when he’s out, he’s curious about what’s happening around the house and enjoys being nearby, even if he’s not quite ready to fully settle in with the group yet. With patience and consistency, his confidence continues to grow. Bandito is working with a trainer, and everyone agrees that slow, thoughtful progress is the key to his success. He would thrive in a calm, adult-only home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes. A securely fenced yard is essential, as leashes are still scary for him. Bandito may always be a sensitive soul, but in the right environment, with a patient person who understands that trust takes time, he can absolutely continue to blossom. He is proof that progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful, and he’s waiting for the special home that will celebrate every step forward with him.

Hi, my name is Holly and I am from Kentucky! From her foster: Holly is a very sweet puppy who enjoys taking long naps because she is still growing, when she is awake she enjoys playing with her toys, she potty training and does well with a schedule. She sleeps well in her crate at night and during the day, though it takes a bit to settle down in there. When not in the crate and I leave the room she and her sister can be quite vocal until I return, so still working on puppy training!

From his foster: Frosty is a handsome, sweet boy but dont let his cuteness fool you. Hes a sock stealer. With new things he can be hesitant or scared. He is learning sit, lay down, kennel and off. He usually whimpers or will try and get your attention if he needs to go to outside. He has had a few accidents in the house but not often. He doesnt like being alone in his kennel when no one is home. He whimpers and barks in protest of me leaving. He is getting better at sleeping through the night in his kennel. He enjoys chewing on toys. He is getting used to riding in a car. He gets very excited meeting new people. Has not had exposure to cats or kids.
