Darling Dove was rescued from an overcrowded shelter to ensure that she receives the care and recovery time she needs to fully regain her health. Dove was recently diagnosed with heartworm, and has since received treatment. Now she will need to have a couple of months to rest and recuperate – of course, she’d prefer to do that in her new forever home instead of at the shelter! We’re told that Dove is very sweet & friendly with people & other dogs alike. She’s a happy medium in the size department, too, full-grown at around 35 lbs. Her breed mix is guessed to include Weimaraner and Labrador, but could include others (if you’d like to sponsor a DNA test, we’re all ears!). If you can give Dove the extra TLC she needs to make a complete recovery and can promise her a lifetime of love, she can’t wait to meet you! If you think you might be interested in adopting, your next step should be to complete an Adoption Application found at caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Meet Alra (we call her Molly, and she responds well to that). Alra is looking for a forever home! She is the sweetest housemate, spending most days on the couch sleeping and cuddling. She has a lot of love to give and warmed up to us quick. She is house trained and loves car rides. She has not had one accident yet. Very chill around other dogs and people. She would be the perfect addition to any family or someone who spends a lot of time by home. She has a bit of separation anxiety but we have been working on it! She is very easy to fall in love with and gets so many compliments on her walks. Alra knows "sit" and "let's go" and is A good learner because she is sovery eager to please. She is so loving and affectionate, and has been very calm and neutral around other dogs. She takes treats really well and is very smart about understanding why she gets them. The only time she has barked is when I leave the apartment. She still has some separation anxiety, even though other people are in the house while I'm gone. Good with other dogs, low shed, very calm. At home she spends most of the day curled up on the couch next to me while I work ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.
