A Houston mama dog who needed help with healing her gut after being found on the streets nursing a litter of puppies - she was also treated for heartworms now in prevention. She is now spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She has a soft and stunning silver coat with a long tail. Diva seems to prefer the city life and cozy things, with no prey drive or interest in chasing smaller things but staying close to humans. She is fostered with dogs of all sizes and is the passive one. She shows her age (guessed to be just 3 years old) by energetic dog wrestling and running. She is now living up to her name and with a flair for the dramatic and likes to be the center of attention; a socialite in her own mind. She gives kisses to all she meets. Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die... Anyway, off my soapbox because so so many people and rescues in the south are working hard to overcome stupidity and do the right thing so it doesn't happen to other pups! I am a sweet and really gorgeous girl. My siblings and I looked very pittie and weimaraner size/temperament and personality wise. I have a gorgeous apricot colored coat with some blonde highlights (the kind you get at a fancy hairdresser :), mine were FREE :) I am now 3.6 yrs old and in my maturity I have stopped all the puppy antics- no chewing, barking, digging, peeing or pooping all over the place for me!! i am well mannered, will hang out with you while you work and then we can go for a walk or a run and then binge watch Masterchef (I LOVE ME some GORDON RAMSAY!!) until we get sleepy! That is my ideal day, so if you are down for hanging out with me all the time, fill out the adoption application and just give me happy and loving home please!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

This handsome goofball is a Weimaraner–Lab mix with model looks and full-on cartoon physics. Comet is a little shy at first and will need a patient, understanding family willing to give him time to warm up. But once he does? You’re it. He’ll happily become your goofy little shadow, following you around like it’s his full-time job. He communicates in two very clear ways: The Nose Push and Out Loud Opinions. If you’re busy or accidentally ignoring him, no worries—he’ll simply materialize behind you and gently (or not-so-gently) poke you with his snoot until you remember he exists. Problem solved. His favorite hobbies include playtime with his doggy bestie, chewing on toys and bones like it’s a professional sport, and playing on top of literally anything—beds, couches, toys, and yes… humans. When playtime ends and recharge mode begins, he’ll either dramatically plop himself directly on you or use you as a shield to hide behind. Advanced tactics. Very effective. Comet is an adorably uncoordinated, silly boy who loves other dogs and is still undecided about cats (friend? snack? mysterious moving furniture?). One thing he is absolutely certain about: he has the most beautiful eyes and the sweetest face you’ve ever seen—and he knows exactly how to use them. He’s learning his commands and already crushing “sit.” And if you mention the word treat? He’ll march straight into his kennel like a perfect angel who has never done anything wrong in his entire life. In short: Comet is goofy, loving, a little shy, deeply dramatic, and completely irresistible—and once he chooses you, he’s ready to push his nose straight into your heart. Merry did wonderfully meeting other dogs and people, showing a submissive, easygoing demeanor with other dogs (at least during a small-store outing). With people, she’s incredibly gentle and affectionate. Merry seems to enjoy car rides, walks nicely on leash, does well in her crate, and appears to be housetrained. At home, one of her favorite pastimes is sitting on the back of the sofa, quietly looking out the window and taking in the world. Merry arrived in foster care with her three puppies and has been a devoted mama. Two of her pups are still searching for their forever homes as well. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
