Penny is a sweet, affectionate 3-year-old Catahoula/Pit mix who is ready to find her forever person! She is truly one of the most loving dogs her foster family has ever had the pleasure of caring for, and she has so much love to give. Penny is an adventure buddy, a playtime enthusiast, and a professional cuddler all rolled into one. She loves walks, toys, treats, and being by her person’s side. After a fun day of exploring, she is more than happy to curl up next to you for a cozy nap. Physical affection means the world to her, and she thrives when she feels loved and connected to her person. Penny is smart, eager to please, and listens really well. She enjoys learning and is looking for someone patient who will continue helping her grow while celebrating all the wonderful things that make her special. Penny plays well with other dogs when toys, treats, and bones aren’t involved. She does best with very slow, patient introductions and is still working on her manners during meet-and-greets. Her foster family is also continuing to work on her excitement around other dogs while out on walks because she just gets so happy when she sees them! With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Penny is learning how to navigate these situations. She is fantastic with kids but would do best in a home without cats.
