Story
I weigh 52 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $500 London didn’t get the start to life she deserved. She was found scared and severely underweight, but despite everything, this resilient girl hasn’t lost her spark. London is a food lover through and through, which makes winning her over pretty easy! She loves to run, play, and burn off energy, and she especially enjoys splashing around in the kiddie pool on warm days. Now, London is ready for a fresh start with a loving family who will show her the kindness, comfort, and love she has always deserved. She’s more than ready to leave her past behind and start her happily ever after. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Story
Doc McGee is the name.... and FUN is the game!! I am a mixture of some hunting dogs…I like to raise up my paw when I see something in the backyard and I have some herding qualities. i like to try to corral my mom’s personal dogs around the yard. I am the sweetest boy at nighttime and I love to snuggle with my foster mommy in her bed at night…I love to be skin-on-skin! I do not like my kennel to sleep in. I bark if I cannot be laying with you. I am athletic and energetic and love to wrestle with my doggy siblings at my foster mom’s house. I really want a fun furry friend to play with at my new home. I also like to play with the 2 legged humans that like to talk “baby talk” to me. I am still working on potty training. I always pee-pee like a big boy out in the grass, but I sometimes have some accidents inside. I need to go outside right away in the morning when I wake up and I need to go outside within 2 minutes of eating to continue having success. I am a fun boy and I like to play with any and all squeaky toys, and I like to chew on anything that my toofers fit on….firewood, balls, toys, blankies, old shoes etc. I am very good at fetching when my human throws toys. Do I sound like a good fit for you? I cannot wait to go to my furever home!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die... Anyway, off my soapbox because so so many people and rescues in the south are working hard to overcome stupidity and do the right thing so it doesn't happen to other pups! I am a sweet and really gorgeous girl. My siblings and I looked very pittie and weimaraner size/temperament and personality wise. I have a gorgeous apricot colored coat with some blonde highlights (the kind you get at a fancy hairdresser :), mine were FREE :) I am now 3.6 yrs old and in my maturity I have stopped all the puppy antics- no chewing, barking, digging, peeing or pooping all over the place for me!! i am well mannered, will hang out with you while you work and then we can go for a walk or a run and then binge watch Masterchef (I LOVE ME some GORDON RAMSAY!!) until we get sleepy! That is my ideal day, so if you are down for hanging out with me all the time, fill out the adoption application and just give me happy and loving home please!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
🐾 Meet Atlas – Our Longest-Waiting Adventurer 🐾 Atlas is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix who has been in the rescue program for almost 4 years, and we truly don’t understand how this incredible dog is still waiting for his forever home. Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. And here’s the really cool part—Atlas has competed in THREE OneWorld Canine Biathlons and absolutely crushed it, even placing 2nd in one of his races! 🏅 This dog has both brains and brawn. 📍 Fostered in Huntsville, AL 🐶 Good with dogs 🐱 Cats with conditions 🏃 Adventure-ready & athletic Atlas has waited long enough. He’s loyal, driven, and ready to be someone’s best adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly be your partner in life, Atlas is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt at www.forrescue.net Rescue: Friends of Rescue 💙

Story
This is Lincoln. We rescued her from a sad situation, she was skin and bones and unbeknownst to us pregnant, we were 4/5th people to have her. She’s roughly 14-16 months old. When we rescued her she didn’t even have a name, she had never been shown any affection whatsoever and every time we attempted to pet her she would cower to the ground. The only consistent thing before coming to rescue is that she had always been with other dogs. She is good there and would probably be better if she wasn’t the only dog as she seeks comfort and guidance from them. We’ve worked with her and she’s past the skittish phase and is one of the most loving dogs ever seen but will likely take some time to get comfortable in a new home. She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body and just wants to be loved. This sweet girl is full of personality now. She has come out of her shell and will even throw you a smile. She is a great medium sized dog that weighs about 50 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative. She is being fostered in North Alabama but is available to other areas via transport.
