Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. Shippo is about 6 years old and he is best friend material. He is playful and always up for a long hike or walk. Nothing makes him happier than cuddling and a dip in the creek. He has a basset hound brother that will also be up for adoption, but he doesn't mind most dogs. He is a little weary of larger playful dogs, but loves little dogs. He has been around kids plenty, but has a protective side when it comes to those he loves. His owner is absolutely devastated to let him go, but medical complications are making it difficult to give him the quality of life he deserves. He has hot spots on his front ankles that are being treated, but the only real solution is getting back to the active lifestyle he enjoys. He would do best with a couple or single person that loves the outdoors. He loves relaxing while fishing and barking at the mail truck. He knows a few tricks and is eager to please. He's gentle and loves hugs, but lacks some boundaries when it comes to manners. He's a good boy.
