Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Whisper was recently released from a commercial breeding facility and is learning to navigate the life of living indoors as a pampered pet and family member. She is a bit shy but wants to trust, to love, and to receiving gentle touches from her humans. She is crate trained and sleeps all night without a peep, even hanging out in her kennel for a "safe space" during the day when she needs her time alone. Whisper is learning that resources (pets , food, and toys) are abundant and that she can share with others without loosing the valuable resource. She eats in her kennel to prevent problems from happening. Whisper would love a quiet home with a securely fenced yard as she is not confident enough outside to be leash trained. She must be kept on a schedule in order for her to succeed at house training, so it will be up to her humans to help in this area. She will enjoy the company of a laid-back male dog but will not be placed in a home with another female dog unless that dog is larger and will ignore Whisper's snarky jealous behavior. The suggested adoption donation for Whisper is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Wicket is a very loving, sweet and shy girl. She loves pets, giving kisses and lots of lap time. She’ll do best in a calm home with someone who is home most of the day. She does not like to be crated or to be left alone for long. Wicket does a sleep in a crate at night, but she’s elevated next to our bed and laying right next to us. She will sleep through the night without a peep. She loves other dogs except during eating time and when it comes to playing with toys ( we also have a dog that likes to steal toys) so, we just feed her separately from our dogs and supervise toy time. She loves to be outside to sniff around and she loves to follow her foster siblings around. She’s doing really well with potty training and she needs to be kept on a potty schedule for continued success. The perfect home would be where someone can give her the love and attention she needs/wants and someone who has experience and patience with rescue dogs. She would do well with other dogs in the home (with eating alone and toys with training/supervision) or as an only dog. Wicket a sweet girl who just wants to be loved! The suggested adoption donation for Wicket is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Story
Welcome to rescue, Mimi! Mimi is a Terrier mix, born February 2025.  She will be your shadow and follow you around the house.  MImi loves to be outside and help with yard work!  This girl has athletic ability and can scale a 4' chainlink fence with no problem.  She definitely needs a secure 6' privacy fence to keep her safe in the yard.  She loves playing with toys and enjoys playing with other dogs and cats.  Mimi needs someone who would love to go on occasional walks and she is ready for whatever training her new family can offer.  Mimi would do best if her person is home most of the time or only gone for short periods of time.  Her foster mom does not kennel her when she's left alone and Mimi has not been destructive in the house. Mimi is a parvo survivor and is now parvo free.  She is defnitely ready for her next chapter in her furever home!     The suggested adoption donation for Mimi is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2443180##

Story
Meet Vinny, born in March 2009, a laid-back senior gent eager to bask in the joys of retirement in his own little slice of doggy paradise! Vinny, a Silky Terrier, embodies a kind, sociable temperament that warms hearts wherever he goes. While he adores gentle play with children, Vinny appreciates youngsters who understand the importance of respecting pet boundaries, leaving the energetic roughhousing to them. This mature pup delights in snuggling under the covers and sharing bedtime warmth with his beloved humans, forming quick bonds with new friends. Vinny's amiable nature extends to his furry housemate, showcasing patience and camaraderie with other dogs. Seeking a tranquil home, Vinny would thrive with a retiree, a couple, or a family who enjoys leisurely strolls, cozy TV time, quality family moments, and the comforting presence of a furry friend. Vinny, a lover of keeping laps warm, would benefit from belly bands indoors to address territorial behavior effectively and affordably. Additionally, adopters keen on embracing Vinny's needs should be aware of his occasional mild seizures, managed with CBD oil and Gabapentin. This senior sweetheart yearns for lazy afternoons observing the world from a window perch, snug embraces from his humans, and the serene life filled with love and comfort that he richly deserves. The suggested adoption donation for Vinny is $265. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.
